Very well could be. You guys are still in on some big recruits. Would be like bizzaro world if both MS teams somehow made it into the top 10.

sadly I think that would put us at about 6-7 in the SEC still.

What's crazy is how excited both are... yet if you were to combine the classes, it would still not equal the talent that Bama will pull in this year.

Yeah this year would be close. The hard part is making it happen every year and unfortunately our schools just dont have the history to make it happen.

You can only cheat so well...

Bama has been doing it a long time -- and they don't get outbid on guys.

Only way either of us consistently compete at the next level is to lock up a booster in the Boone Pickens/Phil Knight vein that can throw that kind of money at the programs...

Yes he did- but he hasnt had his exit meeting with Mullen. That's where Mullen tells him if he is really committed- he doesnt visit anywhere else, helps State recruit, etc...if he still wants to take visits, then Mullen wont let him officially commit, so we'll see where he stands this afternoon

You make Mullins sound like a huge a-hole. No surprise there though...

State always recruits better the year after going to a bowl game for some reason.

Bowl game in 2007- Class of Feb, 2009 is very good
No bowl games in 08 or 09- recruiting classes in 2010 and 2011 were not very good.
Bowl game in 2010- Class of Feb, 2012 is very good
Bowl game in 2011- Class of Feb, 2013 is going to be very good

That's just how it works at State for some reason

Well, he is...but in this case he is trying to teach the kids what "being committed" means

You trying to say he shelters them so that they don't find out the truth?!

No you drunken buffoon- he tells them if you take other visits then you really arent committed yet- take the visits and then make sure its what you want to do. When you commit- it means you are 100% sure- so there is no need to take other visits

If both MS schools recruit well, the games will be about player development and X's and O's. That would be a nice change for both schools.
