Can I see this picture you are speaking of? Keep in mind...I was only 9 years old when he was a freshman. I could be misremembering. Unless he played another position at Alabama he never played a down at RB. In 1996 we had Dennis Riddle, Curtis Alexander, and Shaun Alexander playing the position. S. Alexander was a true freshman.
Plus he got kicked off the team so it's no surprise why this kid dislikes Alabama and chose not to accept our offer (if there even was an offer).

Honestly, I've never heard of him. He must have been a good recruit, but something, maybe grades, made him leave after his redshirt year.

Two former major recruits will be involved in Southern's running back competition. Antoneyo Williams, Alabama's Mr. Football in 1996 and a redshirt at the University of Alabama in 1997, began practice Monday afternoon. And Cisco Perkins, a 1997 LSU signee who pled guilty to drug possession in 1999, is expected to join the team either later this week or earlier next week.
The boy from Alabama must really have some "issues" or is just plain finished. Somethings wrong when Coop and/or LC wouldn't bring him on board. Perkins was out of football (cut by LSU) prior to his arrest for having cocaine on his former high school campus

In other words, Alabama with all it's problems and shortage of players didn't have run for this "has been".
Perkins, who had worked out during the summer at SU, is finalizing his paperwork to enroll in school. He'll also need to pass a physical before being cleared to play. Perkins redshirted in 1997 and did not record any statistics in 1998. He was no longer in school at time of his arrest in February 1999. Perkins has not carried a football in a game since he ran for 2,300 yards and 29 touchdowns while leading Logansport High to the Class 1A title. The Class 1A offensive most valuable player in 1995, Perkins was ineligible as a senior after transferring to Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport.

He was a beast. They had 3 beast RBs on the team but he was the best. One of the best HS teams I've ever seen.
He signed with Alabama but was dismissed when he was pulled over and had cocaine in the car. IIt was either right before the season started or early in the 1997 season.
