Is he a take for you guys? Where is he on the board with Chris Allen, Dylan Moses, and Monty Rice still out there? Or are you even recruiting him as a linebacker?

TIA.

Not really high on our board from what I can tell and I believe we are recruiting him as a RB.

If we miss out on Akers swilling would be a good get for RB in our class.

Thanks for the response Tide. Trolling aside, where is Moses on the board?

Honestly, none of us know. We all seem to like and want Allen more than Moses at this point, but we aren't making the decisions.

I will say that I am very interested in seeing how Moses responds to being on the field for IMG. He could either be fantastic or be a huge disaster.

Agreed. it's going to be interesting to see. How many linebackers are you guys taking? It's filthy what you guys have going on at the position. Well, really across the board too.

We have 3 right now in Johnson, Cowan and Benton. I could see us taking two more out of Allen, Moses, Chase Young (ranked as a DE), Monty Rice and Robert Neal. I think Allen and Young are the two most likely to be in the class at this point.

My gosh... LSU is starving for LB's and Bama is simply cherry picking and turning down elite talent cuz they run out of room. If we lose out on Allen and Moses to Bama that will be awful.

LSU has landed 4 total Players that are officially listed as LB in the last 3 recruiting cycles ( that includes Thorton) and one of them (C Garrett) has already transfered.

To be fair, prior to the class of 2016 we had several misevaluations at ILB. A handful of our young ILBs (namely Joshua McMillon, who I'm still hopeful on as he's not far removed from an ACL tear, and Adonis Thomas) haven't distinguished themselves yet (AKA Pruitt isn't too high on them). We will really need our young ILBs to step up before 2017, when we'll lose Reuben Foster. Keith Holcolme needs to devote himself to football over baseball, and Ben Davis and Mack Wilson need to be able to contribute quickly.

The 2017 recruiting class is very important numbers-wise for Bama at the DL and ILB positions. We simply have to land some elite talent at DL in this class.

Is Bama also still going heavy after Marvin Wilson or have they pretty much called that one a loss?

Mike Farrell predicted Wilson to Alabama during the Rivals Challenge two weeks ago.

This won't be popular, and it sounds like something every "fanboy" of pretty much every team says (everybody but our team is cheating, etc..), but the general thought among several Bama mods (to be fair, they basically never say this about anybody that Ole Miss isn't recruiting heavily.. so this isn't an anti-LSU thing) is that if Wilson gets to make his own decision, Bama has a very good shot (along with LSU). There is a lot of concern that he won't get to do that, though.

I know, I know... nobody likes to hear that kind of stuff. I'm just telling you what's being said.

At the end of the day, I expect him to pick between (publicly) Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss. I expect him to sign with LSU or Ole Miss.

The same people who were saying Greg Little would sign with Ole Miss shortly after he decommitted from A&M and everyone was assuming he'd sign with Bama are very concerned Wilson will sign with OM. Take it FWIW, which may or may not be much.

To put it more plainly, according to a few of our mods, our staff doesn't think we will sign him even though we have a very good relationship and history with recruiting him, and he's saying the right things about us publicly.

Nobody knows where the Swilling's are going. Most think it's out of state but bama doesn't seam like a fit at all for Bruce. I can see them going to Oklahoma or Southern Cal or something.

Chris Allen is the one that's the most interesting from La. He has been publicly stating that Bama is his leader for about 4-5 months yet not even the Bama mods are predicting him to Bama. I can't imagine him not being a take either.

I'm not sure where you get that our mods aren't predicting him for Bama. Most seem to think that we have a great shot.

100% CB to LSU means nobody has CONFIDENCE he is going to Bama at this point.

I said nobody is predicting him to Bama, I didn't say they didn't have a shot.

They can't stand the idea that a player might actually choose to go to LSU over Bama.

The swillings are an interesting duo. On 247 mods think they are headed out of state, while Alabama seems the likely destination for both, Alabama doesnt really seem to want either.

Interesting to see where they both land, and I do think they are absolutely going to the same school.
