There are idiot fans of every sports team. Unfortunately these idiots tend to not keep to themselves. That's really sad that he can't even go to church without being hounded to commit to a certain school.

It's things like this that make you realize the excess amount of importance we place on sports, especially on high school kids.

Highly unlikely. I'm betting it was just some nosy guy in church who barely even knows the kid, which makes it worse, IMHO.
