Gah, you sound just like Ole Miss fans and their football recruiting threads.

You're right. He sounds worse. Pearl going to get owned by Avery.

With one 5* and two 3*s?

It's a good start, but you have a few more 4-5* kids you'll need to land by closing time to consistently hold the #1 class.

Harper won't be a 3* long. His size will probably keep him from ever cracking the top 50 but the kid can play.

Absolutely, and I really don't ever expect auburn to finish with a number one class. It would take one hell of a set of events, but Pearl has us going in the right direction.

Good for auburn glad Bruce pearl is doing work.

Wish AK could get in the recruiting game he can coach just can't get big time croots.

"#1 overall" tends to mean #1 overall to me

As a Kentucky fan I assume you know about basketball recruiting. If Auburn can continue to improve its play this season to go along with the players Pearl is bringing in, do we have a chance to get Josh Langford to give us another look. I'm hoping by conference play in January that he'll reconsider his decision to attend a school in Lansing, Michigian.

Also, AU's 2017 class will be even better.
5* PF and top 15 player Austin Wiley is a stone cold AU lock.
He has a HS teammate Jamal Johnson that is a 4* CG and top 100 player that will be an AU lock with a commitable offer.
Auburn HS has another top 100 player, 4* PF Garrison Brooks who I'm also going to go ahead and claim.

Alabama basketball legend Buck Johnson's son, Jamal, is an au lock? I will have some of what you are smoking.

He'd like to play with other good players, for a good coach, and in a nice arena instead of a dump.
Pearl is building a winner, Avery is Grant 2.0
If he's smart he'd follow Wiley to AU... A lot has changed since dad's college days 30 years ago.

I do. Which is why I said what I said. The SEC as a whole is recruiting better with hires like Barnes, Avery, and Howland to go with Pearl now established at Auburn. It's a good start, but I'm assuming you know as well a lot of your top recruits in basketball typically don't pull the trigger a little further down the line so it's a bit early.

Exactly, so IYO is Josh Langford going to stick with Mich State? Seemed like he pulled the trigger kind of spontaneously on his summer visit there. Basketball season gets awfully cold in Michigan for an Alabama boy.
I think Duke and Kentucky were considered the top 2 before he committed. Would either of those teams make room for him if doesn't stick with MSU?

In terms of Kentucky, as always under Cal, it depends on who ends up declaring. Personally, I think he probably would but it's hard to say this early what all will be open.
