Then why did Muschamp have to grant Blakely a release, and why didn't the NCAA allow him to play right away?

True.

But he wouldn't be playing a down for LSU until 2014.

Mike Blakely had to sit out an entire year (2011-12) after he had been GIVEN a release from UF to AU.

Miller won't be getting that same release. Ergo, by SEC rule, he'll sit out two years (2012-13, 2013-14).

You do NOT give releases to intra-divisional rivals, period.

This is why I don't see it happening. If he wants to leave, I'd be perfectly happy for Chiz to release him to any school but SEC West schools and UGA (all schools AU plays every year).

That is petty and shitty. If he wants to leave, let him leave. It is not like he a 1st round lock. All dude has is potential. He wont see the filed for a least two Years if he stays because he is too small.

No its cowardice and weak. Saban gave Grant a full release, we should do the same if Miller wants to leave.

I don't know the whole situation, but I read somewhere that Grant would've had to sit out 2 years, instead of 1, had he not been a walk-on last season. Don't know how true that is.

If you're such a big fan of Saban, I suggest you're wearing the wrong colors.

I respect the man. He is not a giant pussy that is scared of some random olineman.

IIRC, it helped Saban's scholarship numbers to give a full release. I could be wrong, though.

Saban did NOT give Grant a full release, that is why he had to walk-on...

If Miller wants to go to LSU, then grant him a full release.. No problem...

However, I think this is just an unfounded RUMOR without any real facts.. Just some wishful thinking ..

I will say this, it would be in our best interest to grant him a release and just let this one go if Miller chooses to transfer. We have had two very deep oline classes the past two years and for simple numbers factors, it would be best to shift that scholarship back a year.

FWIW a UF mod actually reached out to Pat's coach, and his coach said he was happy at AU and had heard nothing different. We shall see, but for now, I'm not buying it.

Muschamp had a soft heart for Blakely. Blakely didn't like Weis, and Muschamp understood perfectly because Muschamp didn't like fatass either. It's funny because Blakely wishes he was at UF now that Weis is gone.

Pretty sure Blakely would go anywhere right now to escape the hole he's digging himself out of

This was back in January after it was announced Weis was leaving. Yeah, Blakely is quite the character, and I'm not surprised he has dug himself another hole.
