What can you guys tell me about him. He's the #5 rated player in Arkansas, but I see you guys haven't offered.
I really like his film. Great size and speed. Does he not fit your system, or just guys higher on your board?
We recently offered. He's committed to Boise St, but we just flipped their QB commit as well so I think we have a good chance of flipping him.
TIA

Higher guys on the board. They brought him in to camp this summer so they could see him in-person but they never offered.

Not SEC material. We never offered even after having him at camp and evaluating him closely.
We also had way bigger fish to fry. We landed the #3 overall RB in the country. So, I don't know what you can take from that really.
I like to see these state kids do well, so maybe it works out. He has seemed all about Boise since he committed though. So, good luck.

He came to camps but our staff was always up front with him that we had other targets ahead of him on the board.
His Rivals ranking is inflated because he went to two or three of the Rivals Camp Series camps this past summer.

I think he'll flip if you pursue him hard. Any word if he's visiting yet?

Why we choose not to offer certain players is often a mystery and many were surprised we didn't offer Crockett. I haven't seen much video of him, but I know many think he looks great. Oddly, I've probably driven by several of his games, but I've never stopped to watch him.
He does seem to really like Boise, but I agree with Cheshire that Missouri can probably flip him. He seems like a good kid, but I don't know him personally. He'd probably do well at Missouri, and I wouldn't make much out of Arkansas not offering, because our coaches are really very particular with ensuring good fits. Some of the players we don't offer is often mind-boggling.
edit: Who down-voted this?

Heard from a source that Boise State running back commit Damarea Crockett is taking an official visit to Missouri this weekend.

I would think yall have an advantage over Boise due to proximity. The kid can play he was just farther down our board. I was thinking we would offer late if we struck out on both white and whaley

Maybe y'all can sway him.
Did he show up?

Yeah, he's here now.
I would think a chance to play in the SEC would be appealing. Also a chance to stick it to Arky for the next 4 years probably doesn't hurt!

I would be pretty surprised if yall couldn't lure him to play for you. I think he got squeezed out with us being on bigger fish. He's definitely a player.

While he may be a bit disappointed we didn't offer, we were really in on much higher prospects plus with what we have coming back. The need just isn't there for him here.
We landed the #3 overall RB in the nation in Devwah Whaley. We are in the final 3 for the nations #10 overall RB in Kyle Porter. We return Rawleigh Williams and six year senior Kody Walker. We also have our hybrid type back in the #14 overall ATH in TJ Hammonds.
Some years some of these home state guys just get left out due to needs and just not being as high on our board as others. When Houston Nutt was here, he would sign any in state guy that loved the Hogs. Things changed a bit under Petrino and Bert just has a national reputation, especially with RBs and OL.
Ill certainly wish the kid the best. I think it is just bad timing for him, with us being in the mix with much more highly touted RBs.

Good luck - hope he goes to Mizzou and kicks arse.

Times have changed. We've had to up the ante in recruiting.
There was a time that we would take the top 10 or 12 in the state pretty much every year without fail. Now we only take the few that are pretty much sure SEC caliber. Some years now that might only be 5 or 6, and a couple of those might be projections.
Crockett is a pretty good HS running back, and he will play college ball. I just don't think it will be SEC though. Could be wrong - we passed on Kenneth Dixon from Strong a few years ago, and look at what he did at La Tech. Best of luck to Crockett and hope he has an outstanding career where ever he lands.

Just flipped him! I'm pretty excited. I think the guy had great SR. year film. Love his size and speed.

Congrats. Hopefully he will work out

Congrats to crockett! Hope he has 11 great games a year

Congrats on the pickup. Hopefully he does well in 11 games out of the year and tanks regularly against Arkansas.

Congrats to Crockett. Sorry we couldn't offer him, but hope he has a great career except against Arkansas, of course.
