We have Cooley and Angel committed already or we would have definitely offered the kid. He's a really good player with great size and a quality family, just taking three tight ends in this class would have been foolish for us. Nice work Hogs, he is going to be a helluva asset in y'all's offense.

Should something happen and Ole Miss turn the heat up on him, it will get interesting. I know he has some Ole Miss family.

That would be my biggest concern. He said he committed to Arkansas over State due to Bielema's history of putting TE's in the NFL but I'm not sure that would hold the same sway over the school his family went to.

Gunter's dad played at Ole Miss. If they end up offering then he will flip.

State offered but passed when Christian Roberson said we were his leader and he likely would commit to us in July.

I have basically seen every game he has played in since 7th/8th grade. Right now he isn't exactly explosive off the ball/snap but has a long stride and can really get moving after the first couple steps. He has exceptional hands and can high point real well. Give him a year or two to work on his strength and blocking skills and you'll have a great TE for your scheme. Actually would like to see him go to UM but considering they have 2 TE commits already I think they are set at that position for the year.

Par for the course on the recruiting board. Someone from the other school(s) considered always claims something along those lines.

Good coaches over at MC.

He plays some good competition in state and out of state as well.

Solid pickup for us

This will be Petersen's first year at MC but he is an excellent coach.

Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up flipping since we really don't need him.

CBB just trying to break the ice on recruiting the state, doesn't really matter if he can help us or not if it can possibly give us some momentum in the state.

We did the same thing 3-4 years ago wasting a scholarship on a WR that couldn't play, but we didn't get any recruiting momentum off of it either.

I won't be surprised if they do, in fact I will be more surprised if they don't.

Freeze doesn't want to appear to let an instate player 'get away' to an out of state SEC opponent, and especially let said school get a foot in the door at that high school, whether they need said player or not.

I imagine Freeze will find room to offer him.
