Recruiting: Willie Sykes '50-50' between Arkansas and Nebraska, will pick on signing day

quote:

The Razorbacks actually offered, Sykes said, more than two weeks ago — prior to his commitment to Nebraska. He kept the offer quiet — even from his high school coaches — until this last weekend. Sykes said his interest in the offer has grown in the last few days, particularly because he intends on being a business major, and “many Fortune 500 companies” are near Arkansas' campus because of their affiliation to retail giant Walmart.

quote:

“A lot of the business majors at Arkansas can do internships with those companies,” Sykes said. "There's a lot of opportunities."

Northwest Arkansas continues to pull in student-athletes due to its Fortune 1 status. Its refreshing to see a young man consider his degree and future career opportunities instead of how cool the football jerseys are. Sounds like a Bielema recruit if there ever was one

Sorry Nebraska poors, the kid doesn't see himself detasseling or walking beans for the rest of his life

(GSD sidebar: Still pending on if he was also enticed by major enterprises in Central Arkansas)

I see an invite to the 2015 Shareholder's meeting in this kids future

that is actually a really cool story. a well-recruited HS football player considering academics and preparing for a future in something other than football

How many "Nebraska poors" do you think are members here? I'm going to guess zero.

If only there was some sort of board where fans of SEC schools could go to discuss recruiting stories and news of interest. Someone really should get on that.

Being a Mizzou fan, I hate the Hogs with the fire of a thousand Suns. With that being said, I passionately hate Nebraska X 1,010 Suns. Great snag.

You understand that, correct?

Which Fortune 500 do you want to work at in NWA? Wal-mart,JB Hunt or Tyson? How about the Unilever mini HQ or the 2nd largest P&G operation in the USA? Don't like any of those either? Well choose from any vendor that has an office set up here for Wal-Mart business.

Ridiculous opportunities up here.
