Actually think Bama will finish somewhere around 3rd - 5th...but Bama still has some big names...

Ben Davis
Lyndell Wilson
A couple other defensive names

We'll sign Davis, Wilson, and Saloman. Likely on several other high 4*s. Good shot at several 5* guys (Little, Lawrence, Gary, Janarius Robinson). We'll push for #1 again. Who knows how it plays out.

While that is true and is an important part of recruiting and coaching, you really can't over estimate the importance of stockpiling talent. Everyone is going to have those 3*'s that turn out to be studs. You build a program off the 12-15 four and five star guys you bring in every year.

TCU and Baylor say hi.

Alabama has placed more emphasis on camp performances than they have in the past. I'd rather have a team full of guys like the 2009 squad, or even the 2011 squad to some extent, than guys who played more entitled since then.

3* Riley Cole is a good example of this. He dominated the Bama camp. If you're good enough that Saban wants you badly enough at LB in a year when you're signing Ben Davis, Mack Wilson, probably Dontavious Jackson, and Jaquan Yulee, then you are a heck of a ball player.

Raekwon Davis also had a great camp, and has had an excellent Spring everywhere he's competed. Wouldn't be surprised if he winds up a high 4* guy. Yeah, yeah... Bama bump and all that. Works for me.

Baylor and TCU....2 top 10 teams from last year are both loaded with 2-3 stars.

No. That's a Saban staple. But we got away from it lately. The 2011 and 2012 national title teams were loaded with guys we had in summer camps and offered.

Baylor and TCU...how many nattys do they have again? You have to have the studs to bring home the hardware...period. Need the blue collar guys too, but not a team full of them.

Bias, now there's a 4 team playoff that may change that.

How exactly does a four team playoff change the fact that talent is the essential variable in winning? It certainly didn't with Ohio State.

And look at the NCAA tournament in basketball. A full fledged playoff. Yet the blue blood programs with all the talent are the ones left standing more times than not.
