And putting a press on Fournette?

And if so, why?

You guys have a better chance at Roc than LF

This has been the case, hasn't just changed.

Some people don't think it's the right move, but apparently they want to pursue until their 100% out of it for LF. And it might cost them Roc...

Either Alabama or Auburn for him?

I'd say yes, I don't think the Oregon talk from the past was serious.

Auburn's coaching staff seems to be in good enough standing with Roc to land him.

He still lists Bama as his favorite, but you can only get brushed off so many times.

Do you think they see it as LF is purely better than Roc? Or do you think the resulting fallout in the state of Louisiana plays into the strategy?

Serious question.

It wouldn't hurt at all, but it's just the fact that there's an elite back telling Bama he wants to be in the class.

Bama takes at least 2 backs every year, done so every year under Saban. Though, like '11 class, there's a player who is committed to play RB that could outgrow or shift positions in Bo Scarbrough. So at least 1 other back needs to be in this class. He's big, but he's not bruising big IMO.

Which leads me to the talk of Bama wanting a "bruising back" in the class. Which would make since with the attention to Fournette and the ignoring of Thomas. They are also looking at Daniel Gresham, who I'm a big fan of. Not big enough to prefer over Roc, but a fan nonetheless.

the fact he's listed Bama as his favorite, even though we're showing him more love, is a bit concerning, IMO.

but if you're bama, what do you have to lose?... there's plenty of RB depth on the roster, the position will be relatively easy to fill, so you might as well shoot for the best.

Y'all took Derrick Henry and kept him at RB. And neither Fournette or Thomas are true bruisers.

If this is the case, it's a mistake in my opinion.

I'm a Tennessee fan and i'm drooling over Jalen Hurd, but Roc is the #2 RB in the nation. It really won't hurt Bama that much considering how stacked they are at RB, but Roc is an elite back, and you take elite players no matter what position if they want to commit. If Bama really passes on him, Auburn is getting one hell of an RB in Thomas.

we're still 9 months away from signing day... and is their any indication he's committing early or enrolling early?... it's not like this is a done deal or anything.

Henry wasn't gonna play another position. His size screams another position, but he was taken as a RB.

Bo comes in after this huge class of RBs, paired with his frequent camp workouts as a WR and his relationship with the OC, a switch there creeps in. He's gonna show up as a RB, that's in stone though. He teases, yet remains a RB.

Bama still takes a minimum of 2 RBs a year, any position changes guesses aside.

Fournette is a more physical back than Roc as it stands, so I'd be incline to believe he'd fit their priorities better. Roc is by no means a scat back, but he doesn't run like Fournette either.

Don't be surprised if they get neither, not like they're hurting for RB's.

Roc wanted to commit to Bama a few weeks before NSD but he backed off for some reason.

Most likely because fournette would drop them if another back committed. I know he is not scared of competition but at some point I think he would draw the line.

No matter who he likes we have to keep recruiting him. You never know what might happened. Just like we got Ashawn Robinson last year. Prettty sure Texas thought we didnt have a chance either.

How? We never thought he would be part of this class and Texas did something to frick it up. What im saying you never know what may happened so we must keep recruiting him even if it doesnt look like we are going to get him.
