Leon O'Neal 247

Max Wright 247

Big day for A&M's class... technically Jeff Banks the main recruiter for each of these guys though.

Will they still sign after KS and his staff are all fired following the impending losing season?

Not a troll, didn't the A&M AD basically say KS would be fired if he didn't have a good season?

Going to be hard for this A&M team to win the 9 or 10 games needed to save KS job.

Leon O'Neal is a beast, love his mentality. I hope LSU continues to recruit him.

Let me explain the situation to you gump. Sumlin is well connected with the big money people that have historically called the shots.

Texas A&M is one of the most fiscally conservative public Universities in the country. The leadership isn't going to spend the $20 million to fire this staff and hire another top level staff for anything short of a complete disaster.

If Sumlin meets or exceeds 7-5 he's back.

Now I don't have any problem with the AD bringing some pressure on him, but that's all it is.

That's a legit question after the AD put sumlin on the spot.

The only assistant coach contract that currently goes beyond 2017 is Jim Turner. Every other contract expires after this season, including Mazzone and Chavis.

If Sumlin isn't fired after this season, he would have to be EXTENDED with only 2 years left. The board of regents (without that fricktard Jim Wilson) is not going to approve a contract extension anywhere close to $5M/year for a 7-5 season.

My friend Sumlin will not be sent packing for 7-5. Not with this schedule. Of course we want better.

We would have to pay off Sumlin $10 million, and pay the buyout for a top flight Head Coach. And we wouldn't get the type of Coach we want without giving him the ability to poach great assistants. It is a very expensive process.

But I think it is an academic question. I believe this is the year we out perform expectations anyway.

Man, that sounds all to familiar for an LSU fan. LSU may be quicker to fire a 7-5'er, but I feel for you.

With 2 years left in a coach's contract, you either extend or fire. Letting the contract of a coach run out before extending might have worked in, for example, 1998, but it doesn't work in 2017, not if you want a quality recruiting class.

If Sumlin isn't fired, and isn't extended, then he's still a dead man walking.

Lolol you don't know shite he's gone at 7-5, and it's a toss up depending on who's available. Conservative haha yeah right. Y'all just spent an absurd amount of money to renovate your stadium. The only reason your conservative is because oil is so shitty right now.

You are delusional man if you don't think Sumlin is gone after 7-5. I'll ban bet your arse right now if he's not fired at 7-5.

Oh he's going to be canned in a heartbeat if he goes 7-5 this year. If he isnt, that should tell you alot about tamu and their program if their expectations are that mediocre all the damn time. He hasn't been anything but average his whole tenure there.
