LINK
17 year old who plays professionally in Turkey. He had 8 and 7 vs. the Nets in a preseason game in Brooklyn in October. Not ranked by 247 and the services but he is a projected top 10 pick in the draft next year and obviously has already played against NBA teams.
Multiple Tennessee coaches were in Turkey last week to see him apparently and there is supposedly some kind of connection with Barnes/Lanier and his handlers. Duke reportedly has some interest as well but they could be scared off by eligibility issues.
Would apparently have to go through the clearinghouse since he's played professionally but most expect him to be cleared.
Will be interesting to follow this recruitment.

How can he be cleared if he's played professionally?

If you make more than what's deemed necessary living expenses you have to pay back the difference to be cleared.
If you are paid just for living expenses and necessities you do not lose amateur status.
He is not going to be eligible for the 2016 draft so it's going to come down to him taking what will likely be a fairly lucrative overseas contract for 1 year or playing a year of college basketball.
Tennessee apparently has been on him 2-3 months and been over to see him a couple times so the hope is we can lock him down before his recruitment gets wild. Tennessee and Duke are the only schools I've seen connected to him at this point and Duke just got on him in the last couple weeks.

Spurs will draft him and stash him

He is not eligible for the '16 draft and likely will not be falling to the Spurs in the '17 draft.

What would be the difference here as opposed to Enes Kanter and Kentucky regarding eligibility? Why didn't Kanter just pay back the difference then?
I don't actually expect anyone to research the answer, just wondering.

I believe it's because he received over $30K which is some sort of threshold for the NCAA.

Hmm, get paid some decent change for a year before I go to the NBA or go to college and get paid a little bit a month.

Could be a very messy situation. He's informed his EuroLeague team he will reject their 5-year contract offer and will play in the NCAA.
Left the team and is now at the NBA BWB camp in Toronto.
Turkish report that he is expected to decide between Tennessee and Duke.

5 year contract? What the heck were they thinking.

He will be a nice practice player for someone while they fight for his eligibility. Doubt he ever plays in an NCAA game.

Yurtseven mentioned he has been in contact with Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, California, Duke, Miami and Utah. Yurtseven hasn’t take any college visits, but said he plans to once his club season ends.
That's from Scout

Him not mentioning Tennessee wasn't by accident. Just like when we reported on his recruitment and Lanier's trip to Turkey, we didn't mention the player by name. This staff is very old school in how recruitments are handled. In a lot of cases, until a kid gets on campus, they don't want people tracking how their recruitments are going. But Tennessee and Utah are the only schools that have spent time in Turkey from what I understand and if Tennesee isn't in it at the end I will be shocked. There are some longtime connections with some people close to Yurtseven and a Tennessee assistant.

Rumblings that VOLS may be in very good shape here.

Would make next season much more interesting for VOLS basketball. How likely is he to qualify?

I really hope so. The basketball team needs a break to go their way. This guy would really help jump start the roster.

Would be a huge get by Barnes if he is eligible

kid is really raw, playing against shitty competition, has short arms and a shroter standing reach than blake griffin, which is historically short, and he's 2 inches taller lol. and on top of that he's not gonna play anyway
