LINK

He named them his leader a little while back, but it's still kind of surprising.

Yeah he's not to smart. He will be double teamed for 3-4 straight years.

I think it'll come down to Ole Miss and LSU. He seemed to like both a lot.

prime example of a HS coach doing whats best for him instead of his player

I don't know. Sometimes I think 5 star talent is going to flourish where ever they go.

and he is still going to get 1/10th of the opportunities he would have gotten at LSU if this commitment somehow sticks

better coaching, more recognition, better resources put into the football program, you play on national TV every week

They prob won't be able to stop him even double teaming him.

He's a great player and I think he'll do well but Houston signed a 5 star a few years ago. Couldn't tell you his name now. Obviously not guaranteed Oliver won't succeed but you get noticed much easier at an SEC school. Hell, we had career third string DBs go in the third round of the NFL draft. From the strength and conditioning down to the exposure, etc, you're just increasing your chances of success in the SEC or other Power 5 conferences.

I wish the kid success.

Exposure to tv watcher..sure, but not NFL scouts since they will track his entire college carrer.

Good luck to the guy.

I'll believe it when he signs the LOI. Still think he ends up at LSU

Good for Coach Herman. Not sure it sticks but I've seen a good number of CBs on 247 for some top flight talent to Houston.

Fair, but Dontari Poe, Khalil Mack, Byron Jones, Breshad Perriman, Eric Fisher, Joe Staley, and hell even Ali Marpet from Hobart have recently proven you don't need to go to a power 5 to be drafted highly.
