It's a good pickup for us. I really liked Rhassan Thornton and Alton Robinson too but you can't go wrong with Jackson.

I know Chavis knows what he's doing, but 6'3/226 seems a little small for a DE. Even with growth next year, he should step on campus at maybe 235-240. Hopefully Black Death can get him over 250 before he sees the field.

Chavis has always valued speed over size, dont expect him to go after big DE or big OLB. He wants his OLB to be like big safeties and DE to be like big OLB.

I know, but Von played at 248. 226 seems a little light. 250 should be about right if they can keep his speed up.

He was 241 at the combine.
Gained about 21 pounds total at LSU.

Not sure what that has to do with anything.
No one is trying to discredit Chavis here, but it is a fact he likes the faster, yet smaller, DE's and LB's.
He will have his heavier guys, but team speed is his MO.
