Nice. He is committing just 3 hours before faces LSU's 6-3 stud WR commit Jhamon Ausbon this Saturday in the ESPN HS Kickoff when IMG plays Grayson HS.

Should be a good gauge to see if his 5-8+ frame translates to the SEC as a DB. JW is a projected top 8 CB according to 247.

However, if he mainly plays RB in the game, I hope LSU's 6-3 safety commit Grant Delpit doesn't take his head off. That dude's a beast.

Jamyest also plays on the same team as #5 overall CB Deangelo Gibbs (UGA lean) so this game will have loads of talent to watch.

Is that the 6PM EDT game on ESPN2 this Saturday TD?

Thanks for the heads up ... I am going to DVR that game.

At 5'8 any corner to include in the league is going to have matchup issues vs taller recievers. That being said, Williams held his own at The Opening vs 4 and 5 star players. Outside of the height disadvantage he has everything.

Superior instincts > height. See, Mathieu and your current commit, LeCounte.

Yep, Captain Munnerlyn seemed to struggle mightily when he played at USC....

but having said that, I expect that Gibbs will be matched up more against the tall LSU WR prospect, since he's 6-2 himself and is as talented as Williams. But we'll see....

Man I hope we get this kid. Watched an interview with him last night on Recruiting Nation and he is really a squared-away kid. Straight A student, student government leader, does a lot of community service. Comes from a strong family.

Rooster, y'all are going love Jamyest. I hate that he isn't coming to UGA, but Columbia is a really good spot for him. I've said it before, if he was 2-3 inches taller, he'd be a top 10 player. Best pound for pound player in this class.

Thanks GG ... was really happy when he committed. Watching him now in this game against IMG on ESPN2. He sure doesn't mind taking on bigger guys ... seems like there is a ton of talent in this game. Like freek mentioned earlier - this game is stacked with D1 prospects and commits.

The odd Clemson-to-South Carolina connection: Clemson 2017 QB commit Chase Brice throws a long TD pass over the middle to a streaking Williams to draw the first blood.

7-0 Grayson....
