Eric Cobb out of Jacksonville, FL committed to USC today. He had offers from Boston College, Kansas St., VCU, Seton Hall, Alabama, and Old Dominion among others.

Cobb is much needed depth at the post positions: he is added to 6-10 230 C Travon Bunch who still needs to get his SAT scores in before signing. The prognosis from the staff is that we are in great shape to get Bunch in, and final word could come any day now. Also 4* 6-8 PF Chris Silva. This additional height and size was a huge need for USC, who returns all of it's big men already on roster for next season...

That's generous to call him a 4* but it's a decent late pickup assuming he qualifies.

Extremely generous if you compare it to the other sites.

Rivals for some reason has no national rating for Cobb, although they did give him a 3* rating. Rivals' ratings for prep basketball overall (beyond the top 25-30 prospects per position each cycle) has plummeted over the past year or so - they must have lost some national evaluators or something.

That's why his overall composite is low. Both ESPN and 247 rate him higher nationally. That's the only reason I can find for it.....

No kidding, lets just go with the highest rating we can find! Nevermind the fact he's a mid to low 3-star everywhere else.

You will never see a 6'9" 245 lbs Center (football) in your life....unless you had a 7'1" QB.
