3* TE Brendan Scales (MO) commits to Alabama

Well that escalated quickly.

Don't let his rating fool you. The kid is a great athlete. He was one of our top TE targets this year and the guy I was hoping that we would land.

He doesn't even have a profile pic on 247 yet.

Mizzou was expected to offer at Junior day and he was expected to commit on the spot. The offer never came until several weeks later, after he'd already picked up offers from Michigan State and Arizona State, when apparently our coaches realized they couldn't slow play him for months then offer. That seemed to sour him towards Mizzou from what I've read so when ya'll offered he jumped on it. Pretty dumb on our part, especially since we let you guys come in an take a TE from us last year.

I have no idea about the kid as a player, I've heard he's very athletic but raw. Sounds like he will be a good player after a RS year and some time to work on football.

He is currently ranked the 17th best TE in the country by 247. Based on his recent offers, I would expect that to go up, but I don't see him being a top 200 prospect unless he has a killer year of football.

Apparently he had two profiles on 247. One ranked and one unranked. Oh well.

TEU gets a commitment. I don't blame the kid for securing his spot so early. E'erybody wants to play for Bobby Williams.

the good thing for him is, he will get a bump in ranking(stars), because bama offered and he accepted.

It's how the ballsuckers work at the recruiting places.

Had he committed to MU, he would stay in 3 star range. He will be bumped to high 3, if not 4 by signing day.
