Ferriday? That town has like 3,000 people. Also 6'7 as a freshman? This kids gonna be 7'1 by the time he's a senior.

I guess it's just based off his size and possibilities. His hudl was mainly dl highlights. Didn't look too impressive there. May be an animal as an OT though?

Well, he's 6'7" and a freshman in high school. There is no way anyone would be coordinated enough at that age and size to be "great".

Busy day for Bama recruiting. The staff is putting in mad work.

I would tend to agree. But did you watch the hudl? I was being kind...

What do you call impressive? I was very impressed but hey what do I know.

The kid is 15 with the frame to add at least 30 pounds. He looks like he weighs 250 whereas he weighs 290.

Yeah, he is huge for his age. Looking at pictures of him it seems like he has aged faster then a normal kid his age.

Yes, as I said. He is a big kid and has plenty room to grow. I would imagine the offer was based on this, or on his ability as an OT. His hudl video shows his size, exacerbated by his playing against 160 pound linemen. He looks like a physical specimen. His play in the video, as a DT, wasn't impressive, even for a freshman. Sorry. I was just calling it as I saw it. And it was in no way to knock his potential or ability as an OT, which is what he was recruited for apparently, and what there was zero video on.
Was literally just trying to have a conversation, not flame the kid.

I get what you are saying.
I appreciate you explaining what you meant instead of flaming.
I agree he is raw but he's 15. Potential is all we have to go on at this point.

Win win, either they got a stud on board early or if he sucks later, they pull his offer. LSU would do the same.

Seems weird that you'd put an offer out there for someone so young with so much riding on his improvement.
I mean obviously he has huge upside if they offered him, but might make more sense to hang the carrot out in front of him to make sure he develops the next 2 years rather than risking him thinking he made it and can just rely on pure physical advantage through the rest of high school.

Was going to say one of them was laughing at taking kids that early recently

But just by virtue of being an out of state school, there is really nothing to lose by doing this. If he doesn't pan out, they can just drop him with little to no issue. And if he does pan out, LSU is already behind on recruiting him because they're waiting to evaluate him in person.
