How do you determine the quality of a college football player who has yet to play a single snap in college?

What if Alabama didn't sign a two star snapper? What if they rated specialists on the same scale?

Also had a kicker. So take away the two special teams guys, and then what's our average?

Not sure the kicker counts, since he's a blueshirt. But the long snapper had a rating of .75 or so. Even the kicker was more than .80. But specialists are never rated on a similar scale.

Are you really asking me how recruiting rankings are done?

This is likely his way of arguing that Florida's class is not that far off of Georgia's, like the rest of the Gators OTB

Why even do rankings at all then?? None of these kids have played. It's all a crapshoot

Point of this thread is to show not all recruiting classes are equal. Small classes can have great quality as determined by analysts. Clemson for example had a small class ranked in the teens overall, but their average player ranking puts them 5th.

All I know is UGA might have signed the largest OL class I've ever seen.

D'Marcus Hayes 6'6" 320
Isaiah Wilson 6'7" 350
Andrew Thomas 6'4.5" 335
Netori Johnson 6'3" 341
D'Antne Demery 6'5.5" 319
Justin Shaffer 6'5" 356

That's mammoth. That's literally a ton of OL.

Pittman and Kang said we wanted to get bigger and stronger on the OL... Mission Accomplished?

Did you sign a kicker to play football for your team? If yes, then it counts.

I think it's safe to say the era of 280 lb UGA OL is being phased out.

Probably need to consider a factor such as did the team fill their most pressing needs.

Probably get a lot more accurate read on this next year at this time.

I mean Bama was 2nd on the list and OSU signed a kicker too. If you take Bama's top 20 guys they are better than OSU's since OSU only took 21

Clearly. Not taking quantity into account.
