Typical Gump response......

I don't envy Bama or the fanbase.....TBH

Nothing there (especially talking about the fanbase) that I'd want to emulate, by any means.

Sure, we'd like a few more NC's....but they'll come.

not this year. What's the count up to? 3 in the history of the program? That's what i'm talking about. You speak of Lsu as if they are the premiere program in the country and always have been. Your entire fanbase under 25 has such a skewed sense of the CFB landscape and history. The old timers know better (i'm sure you'll tell me now that you're 60 years old, so save that)

Lsu is johnny come lately in the grand scheme of competing on a national scale. Sure, it's a great program today, but we all know who is responsible for building that. Lsu has a long, long, long way to go until they're in the same ballpark as alabama, and while the gap was narrowing for a time, it appears to be widening again.

One day saban will retire and alabama may go through a rough patch again, it happens...but we'll always be back, because we are alabama and that's the way the world works. Since the integration of the game alabama has won a national championship roughly every 7 years on average. You need to go ahead and deal with it that you'll see several more alabama national titles in your lifetime

Gump math...we'd have about 6-7

And just where do you see me "speaking" of LSU this way?

I'm not in the "skewed" landscape age group u speak of.....

But counting the 30's thru the 50's means shite to todays College Landscape.....Bama is notorious for playing by there own rules during this Golden era anyway.

but we all know who is responsible for building that.

Same guy that finally gave Bama and the dumb arse gumps something to cheer about since 1990?

Again, it's this belief and attitude that causes so many to despise Bama......stfu

Since you brought up this stupid argument, again how long had LSU had something to cheer about prior to 2003? 50 years?

Please don't act like we were irrelevant from 1959-2000

Our only bad decade were the 90's, and even then we had moments that will forever shape LSU history. We may not have had your level of success over those years, but it's not like we were a rent a win.

Kain Daub = Reuben Foster 2.0

would love to have him but it's not the end of the world if he goes somewhere else.

I never said irrelevant but considering the idiocy that I was responding to and how this thread had turned into a Bama was crap prior to Saban; I thought the irony of his post needed to be pointed out. However, on a national scale LSU was never even thought of on the level with the big programs during the 80-90. As a comparison to the success that LSU has enjoyed minus two years of the past decade y'all were irrelevant.

Well he has a point. Daub was in BR this past weekend, but I guess he just gave our staff the bad news in person right?

Silent flip. Asked the coaches not to let it leak as a courtesy.

No, just no.

Please list LSU's AP/UPI/Coach's/BCS national title years + any undefeated pre-AP poll Rose Bowl national title teams.

Bama:

1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, (all pre-AP poll undefeated Rose Bowl champions)
1961 (AP/UPI),
1964 (AP/UPI),
1965 (AP),
1973 (UPI),
1978 (AP),
1979 (AP/UPI),
1992 (AP/UPI),
2009 (BCS),
2011 (BCS)

= 13

(i know the school counts 1941, which is BS. but, it's only 1 bad claim and shouldn't be there. However, Bama was absolutely screwed in 1966...2 time defending national champions, started the season #1, finished as the only undefeated and untied team in the country, but finished ranked #3, this is the only time in history of AP poll a team went undefeated and untied and dropped in the polls)

Additionally, if you want to list every year Alabama has been ranked #1 in a poll, Bama could claim 27 national titles.

Now, if you want to look at a school that has a bunch of fake claims....

Tennessee claims 6 and only 2 of them are AP/UPI/Coach's/BCS.

Or Michigan, they claim 11 and only 2 of them are AP/UPI/Coach's/BCS.

Or Pittsburgh, they claim 9 and only 2 of them are AP/UPI/Coach's/BCS.

As you can clearly see, Bama should not be considered as the worst school concerning national title claims.
