Video From Kohl's Kicking Camp

Says he wants to make a decision in the next week and that Auburn is his #1. Also lists offers from LSU and Cal, and has interest in UNC and Virginia. Kid can absolutely boom it in that video

Who do we have committed now for ST? Was that a kicker or a punter?

I love the fact that our coaches always seem to land great kickers and punters. Wes Byrum, Cody Parkey, Steven Clark, and now hopefully Daniel Carlson. Good news.

Chizik and company know how to recruit some special teams players. Love it.

In the video, he hits 2 55 yard FGs pretty easily, and every single KO goes to around the back of the endzone. Hopefully nothing changes and we pick this kid up

How much does the altitude affect the distance/height of a kick? Only reason I ask is the guy is from Colorado, and that kicking camp was also in Colorado.

This kid is supposed to be an absolute stud. LSU had no plans of taking a kicker this year, but when he came to camp and worked out, he was offered on the spot.

I don't know how heavily we pursued him after that, but even though we weren't planning on taking a K, he would have a spot if he committed. We aren't pursuing any other kickers this year.

It probably has some effect, but he's kicked for the coaches when he came to camp in Auburn, and the coaches placed him at the top of the board. So he's a stud regardless of altitude

Bryan Matthews just said Carlson hasn't committed, but getting close. We got him though. Pretty solid Special Teams class, #1 P and #2 K

Altitude especially 5000+ can help the ball travel further, but accuracy is still on the shoulders of the kicker. My golf game changes when I go to sea level courses.
