Anyone saying the Auburn coaches backed off because of Gatewood is being delusional. They backed off because they realized they were wasting their time.

Thank you

Has nothing to do with what Keef says. I told you why I know what I do. Take it or leave it.

You need to quit being a fricking homer and understand recruiting a little better

You're trying to make it look like AU backed off because they had better options when in reality they backed off because they didn't have a chance with Fields.

Never said that, bitch. Nowhere did I say Gatewood was a better option.
We absolutely had a chance with him in the spring and summer. But he was clearly leaning away from Auburn too this last fall.

Do you disagree with my reason for them backing off, or that they backed off at all?

Auburn coaches didn't back off. They were on his arse hard. Along with several other schools on him.

I would expect this kind of nonsense from FSU fans, but not Auburn. Yall are better than this.

Not like they were in the spring. But I'm sure you know how many AU coaches have been at Harrison this fall.

Yes, they were on him hard... but they most definitely tapered back because they realized they were fighting a losing battle.

True. He hadn't shown his hand much, but it was pretty clear we've been on the outside looking in this fall.

Auburn had backed off him the past few weeks because of Gatewood. Fields is a great kid and I wish we had him though.

Right on cue.

Congrats UGA, but you still have Jim Chaney. The kids will never get coached up

Too funny. It's no surprise that recruits seem to like him... just a complete nut in the best possible way.

Tell me how many AU coaches have been at Harrison this fall. I'll wait.

Fields was drifting away from us, but Auburn absolutely did not have as much pressure on him as they did this spring.

I know, our offense sucks so bad and is going to get even worse.

Let's evaluate the statement that I quoted:

quote:

backed off him the past few weeks because of Gatewood

You didn't say they backed off because they felt their chances were slim, you stated that they backed off because of the desire to land Gatewood... no one would have criticized your comments had you said "welp, it seemed we were mostly out of the running so redoubled our efforts on Gatewood to make sure we landed our best and most likely option in the next class"...

As I said... right on cue.

Sorry, I misspoke.

Auburn realized he was a stretch recently and instead of alienating a 2 year commit that is also a very good QB, they did not press as hard on Fields.

I've seen Fields a lot in person, know the family and he's an incredible QB and kid.

I'm just saying Auburn wasn't running a full court press on him in the 11th hour. His non-commitment to Auburn was not a surprise to anybody who knew what was happening.

But Fields was on Cam's 7 on 7 team and will steer him to the Barn or whatever BS Auburn fans were believing.
