Winning the 2010 LSU game wouldn't suddenly make Dooley a good coach, but it might've bought him more time to flounder around at UT.
So as painful as the loss was at the time, maybe it's a good thing the Vols lost that game to LSU in 2010. Because another year of Dooley was not what the Tennessee program needed.

there is a similar thought that if chiz had beat you guys in that miserably boring 12-10 game then he'd have stuck around longer too.

Yeah, sucked at the time, but in the long run it was for the best.

Dooley went 0-16 against ranked teams

God that was crazy. I remember being very pissed then realizing we got another shot. Les would've been in even more hot water had that went wrong. (Pretty sure that was the season after the Ole Miss and Penn State time issues)

Dooley should have never been hired. When yall got like the fifth rejection you should have gone the interim route.

I was a pledge in 2010; the Tennessee/Alabama games are truly the only games I somewhat remember & I attended every one
Eta: & I only remember the last 5-10 minutes of the Tennessee game

Tennessee might have a Coaching trend going here... Fired -> Hired away -> Fired -> ?

Just wait for Notre Dame to fire Brian Kelly. That's been Butch's MO. He succeeded Kelly at Central Michigan then at Cincinnati.

No, the proper contraction is "should’ve" which is short for what I put: "should have."
"Should of" is wrong and only exists because of idiots who hear "should've" and misspell it when writing it down.
Here is some reading on it:

Someone missed the joke. It just really surprised me that someone got "should have" right twice in one post on this website.

I figured it was a joke but didn't care enough to ask.

You should see the big words I pull out when we really talk realignment.

Realignment is a big word. It's good to use words with four syllables, then the Gumps can't understand and it's like we're speaking a secret language. :-D
