Before he passed (14) George Mitchell was over 2 B.

Rita Benson Leblanc is the wealthiest woman in LA. She graduated A&M in 01. She will likely own the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans. I've seen articles saying she had a net worth of $1.3B and her mother was just awarded control over her father's (Tom Benson's) $1B trust according to the internet.

Graham Weston, Co-Founder of Rackspace, graduated from A&M and was worth over $1.25B a while ago.

Somebody joked that Mark Cuban's wife might be one of the richest in another thread, since he is worth over $3B.

Have you Razorbacks stooped to the level of aggy by claiming Bill and Hillary as "alumni"?

They were faculty members, but never attended a single class in Fayetteville. They went to Yale and Georgetown.

I don't know the exact numbers, but Mizzou probably wins this one with Sam Walton. Also Stan Kroenke.

*EDIT* According to the Google machine Walton's net worth is/was $65 Billion. Stan Kroenke is either $6.3 or $8 billion

*EDIT EDIT* Richard Kinder's worth $10 billion

Really? Didn't know that.

Holy crap he's from Huntsville. How did I not know this before now?

Got his Bachelor's from Auburn and left Bama early so we'll take him.

Tim Cook has nothing on John W Brown. 2.3 billion. I'm pretty sure he's Auburn's richest alum.

I feel like there are always a few extremely rich alumni from every school that no one really knows about. Mainly bc they don't really associate with the school.

I know of an LSU alumni (not Flores) in Houston who is in the billions.

Alumni is a plural noun referring either to a group male graduates or to a group of both male and female graduates. The singular alumnus refers to one male graduate, alumna refers to one female graduate, and the plural alumnae refers to a group of female graduates. These Latin loanwords preserve their original plural forms, and incorrect use of the words abounds because many speakers of English are understandably unfamiliar with the genders and plurals of Latin nouns.

If you have trouble keeping track of them all, one alternative is to use alum and alums. These increasingly appear as replacements for the traditional words—though they may be considered out of place in formal contexts—and they have the extra virtue of being ungendered and hence unconfusing.

So what are you really asking?

We have a lot of wealthy alumni, but they don't give enough money to the athletic program. The give their money to help people and to help the Academic departments.

Got his Master's at Bama. Went to IU for his PhD. That's where he left before completing their program.

Plus, he's a Bama football fan, so we'll take him.

Yang Huiyan

Yang Huiyan is the majority shareholder of Country Garden Holdings and the 24th wealthiest person in mainland China.[2] She is currently the youngest female billionaire as well as the richest woman in Asia.[3] She is the 154th wealthiest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of $8.2 billion USD

I had no idea who this lady was, honestly. I assumed Les Wexner was easily the title holder, but Google gives it to her. Wexner is apparently worth 7.2 billion.

Over the years he built a retailing and marketing conglomerate, which currently includes: Victoria's Secret, Pink (Victoria's Secret), Bath & Body Works, Henri Bendel, C. O. Bigelow, The White Barn Candle Company, and La Senza. Previous brands that have spun off include: Lane Bryant, Abercrombie & Fitch, Lerner New York, The Limited Too (now Tween Brands, Inc.), Structure 9, Aura Science, The Limited (separation from Limited Brands by sale of 75% to Sun Capital Investments, made official as of August 3, 2007), Express (separation from Limited Brands by sale of 75% to Golden Gate Capital, made official as of July 6, 2007
