Or maybe Tulane actually has a winning record vs Auburn.

they sure do. Know who they have a losing record to? Georgia.

We also have a higher win percentage against sewanee as well.

So what are you trying to get at? No non-AU fan will honestly think AU is better than Bama in FB or even in the top 3 best teams in SEC history.

thanks? Let's remember that YOU are the one who brought up sewanee and tulane for absolutely no reason whatsoever ot help prove a point. Which, it actually didn't prove anything other than the fact that UGA has fared better against both schools than auburn has.

Well, I started out just pointing out that SEC SOS should be taken into account when discussing point differential.

The result of pointing out this very rational, logical and quite motherfricking obvious point was gumps getting defensive.

So I got a bit agitated and decided to hammer the point home and back it up.

Regardless of all the whining and excuse making by the barners, in 79 games against Bama they've scored 1291 points
against Bama's 1616 and they're damn lucky it's that close because during that 40 year hiatus they missed playing against Coach Wade and Coach Thomas during their fabulous runs. Conversely, during that span of time, allbarn was....well, just allbarn. Let's just say they were kinda mediocre.

Yeah, I ran the numbers through 1955 to make sure.

AU v Tulane (thru 2014): 14-17-6, 0.459
AU v Tulane (thru 1955): 13-17-6, 0.444

UGA v Tulane (thru 2014): 10-8-1, 0.553
UGA v Tulane (thru 1955): 14-10-1, 0.580

Curiously, through 1955 Tulane was Auburn's 3rd most played opponent behind UGA and GIT.

For those with hurt feelings can you run the numbers for Big 6 vs Big 6, and show each team vs the other? Or is that too much trouble?

In other words, can someone show that Alabama has a higher point per game differential against every team in the big 6 than does Auburn so Tiger in Miami will shut the frick up about his little balls? Sure:

Alabama Point Per Game differential against other Big 6:

v. Auburn +4.11 per game
v. UF +10.70 per game
v. UGA +4.39 per game
v. LSU +7.00 per game
v. UT +4.17 per game

Auburn Point Per Game differential against other Big 6:

v. Alabama -4.11 per game
v. UF +1.25 per game
v. UGA -1.15 per game
v. LSU +0.10 per game (despite a losing record)
v. UT +0.71 per game

As you can see Alabama has a FAR greater positive ppg differential against all other members of the Big 6 than does Auburn despite Tiger in Miami's desire for everyone to think Alabama's dominance is based on strength of schedule.

Put it to you like this: If Alabama and AU played a one game schedule every season and only played each other, who would get credit for having the harder schedule in the majority of years? Who would get credit for having the harder schedule this year?

I could tell your posts were more out in left field than they usually are. Now it makes sense.

Why waste a good afternoon drunk posting on here? Go do something fun.
