I would say by the success and building it from absolutely nothing it has to be Bertman.

Nothing needed from Tennessee fans. We know. You know.

Mr. Southern football himself.

General Robert R. Neyland

I am sure he did but he ain't the guy. You need to go into the way way back machine with Sherman and Peabody for the Aggies I think.

I think I'd say Dana X Bible even over the Bear and that cheating clown they called a coach in the '80's.

UT fans must forgot the lady who won them 'ships. I said schools history not just football.

I think most know and if you don't then you need to brush up on CFB history cuz he's kinda important to not just to us but innovating the game.

I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. I'm a UT graduate and make the drive from Memphis every weekend to attend Tennessee football games. I bleed orange.

In Knoxville, Neyland is God.

Summit was great, but it's not even close.

I don't consider Neyland a "God". I consider him above some others that will get listed. But Summitt actually made a woman's sport relevant. Helped with separating departments.

Yea, that's why we fired him. Maybe you're thinking of Ole Miss?

J Frank wasn't even the best football coach Arkansas had.

Alabama basically fired Stallings. But I'd rate him in our top five of coaches.

John McDonnell for Hogs. It's not close. He's one of the best at any sport ever.

For the Vols it's Summitt. Neyland is a close #2.

Crazy talk.

You must not be from Knoxville or a UT graduate.

As far as Tennessee fans are concerned General Neyland invented football.

In reality, he did invent the modern defense but we won't get into that debate right now.
