So Texas A&M was one of the shite programs that needed the playing field equalized.

Considering that before scholarship limitations Darrell Royal would give scholarships to players that would never play just so no one else in the state could get them...and the fact that he retired IMMEDIATELY after scholarship limitations were imposed...

aggy beating their chests about being ahead of Texas in the rankings while they have one and a half classes and Texas has 13 commits?

Texas has one 5-star who they're about to lose to USC. Normally, they have their entire class wrapped up by now...for the next year.

I thought Mack Brown had wet spots on his pants at the end of the game from all the excitement. I was laughing...dude...its the fricking Alamo Bowl!

He knew he just secured his job for at least 4 more seasons.

How has Mack done against A&M while at Texas?

Irrelevant now, as they refuse to play us. That's like asking about Miami's record against Florida since 1990.

It's not totally irrelevant. Mack was 10-4 against us. But he started coaching towards the end of Slocum's career and pretty much dominated the series when Fran and Sherman were around. Just as a point of comparison his record against Stoops is only 5-9, that's one of the biggest problems UT fans have with him. I think he's also 2-5 against Bill Snyder along with two losses to Ron Prince. My point being, against the other two best coaches in the Big 12 Mack hasn't fared that well. A&M had been lost in the woods for quite a while before this year.

Did you ask this follow up because you had no idea A&M has been winning the series since 1975?

And how exactly is 1975 relevant?

It's kinda like Auburn fans only count the years since Bear died, except for 1972.

Three important issues with A&M prior to the 70s.

1. scholarship limits stopped texas from buying up all the talent.

2. all male military academy change to allow females, increasing our overall attendance (money.)

3. No corp membership requirements for players... I believe that the players had to participate in corp activities, but would need confirmation, and more details. I am sure that the schedule was different for the players.

I think TAMU not being coed is a valid excuse for not being able to keep up with UT. That would be valid for any school.

The corps became Non compulsory in the late 60s.

Hey recruits want to come to a college with no women and you have to do military drills at 5:00 am?

It's amazing we ever beat anybody from 1940-1970.

It's what Aggy does to justify its awful history. Make excuses, use irrelevant time frames, etc...

Or those which delineate the time period when Texas A&M lifted its self-imposed restrictions.

I mean, of course we sucked before then. The school was entirely military.

But 'grats on the dubyas before then -- I'm sure their existence nestled you real close while Johnny ran actual circles around your defense.

This cannot be grasped by Rantard trolls. It's logical and patently obvious -- two concepts that rest just outside the bounds of their comprehension.

And I don't even see how that's anything to be proud of. I have tons of Aggie friends and lived in college station a couple of years, but you couldn't pay me to go to school at such a huge place. Just not for me. Not for learning.

To be fair, if your being a fan of Arkansas is an indication of where you went to school, you're not exactly an authority on the topic.
