Firing Miles four games into the season hurts your chances of that happening even more. I hear Gruden is available. You're not getting Herman.

There will be an unofficial deal in place with Herman before the season is over. Herman will do the whole song and dance and say he is focused on UH.

Only threat to LSU is USC. Herman would be smart to go to USC because it is a much easier division.

Meanwhile, AU will sit on its arse until the end if the season and then fire Malzahn too late to make a great hire. Make no mistake, you guys won't be beating anyone good, either.

If he gets fired, that puts your Herman chances at about 0.9%. I decided.

USC has a great name and Pete Carrol worked around their limitations brilliantly, but make no mistake, they have BIG limitations. Crap stadium. Crap facilities. The fan base is VERY hot and cold. Yes, the conference is easier, but the glitz and glam of the Carrol era is long gone. And with the NFL back in town now, they will have to fight even harder for the limited LA attention span. If you look at the program as a whole, it doesn't stack up with a good SEC program unless you place a big value on history.

When you lose to Southern Miss because of this, who are you going to hire that would be considered a HR? Auburn thoroughly dominated you last night in every facet. That last drive didn't change anything.

Not a chance in hell they land Fisher but I would be willing to bet they land Herman.

His wife is from there. He has no connections to Louisiana.

But please get your hopes up. It makes the melts that much better.

Dominant teams don't live off field goals, especially with a supposed genius in charge of the offense. A real team would have blown us out last night, but instead, it was a pillow fight between two very mediocre teams. That is why you guys will also be coach shopping after Bama drills you.

I don't think any single loss is going to matter in the end. This is all about keeping the players on board and not having the season go down the tubes with the players quitting on a lame duck coach. Obviously there is no guarantee it will work, but we do just happen to have a guy who has done the interim thing rather effectively, so we'll see.

Are you talking about the Rams? Have you seen them play?

USCw offers an easier path to the playoff, and his wife is a California girl. He might come to LSU - but there are reasons he'd go elsewhere. If ND came calling, that would be an option for him too.
