Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson will miss the remainder of the season with a torn knee ligament, a school official told ESPN's Chris Low on Sunday morning. Patterson tore the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Saturday night's 40-24 loss to LSU, the source said. JUCO transfer Jordan Ta'amu completed 7 of 11 passes for 78 yards against LSU and will probably start next week's game against Arkansas (12 p.m. ET, SEC Network).

Old news. Sad nonetheless.

Likely his last game as an Ole Miss Rebel. He will transfer once the sanctions come down at the end of the year.

Ta’Amu or whatever his name is was pretty excellent as Shea’s backup tbh.

Glad to see he wasn’t hurt by a bad hit. He just made a bad step.

He also plays for a horrible team but I think Drew Lock is better. Ole Miss QBs in the system they currently run and have run since Freeze took over are always going to put up stats. Freaking Bo Wallace threw for almost 10k yards in 3 years in that system. Shea is a poor man's JFF.

Really scary to think this all happened because of a bad step.

Backup QB looked pretty darn good. He looked to have confidence and composure in the pocket.

Sucks but that's the risk you take with QBs who scramble a lot. He had no business being in the game the second half regardless if they knew what the injury was.

Not sure it would have made a difference the way our defense was giving up rushing yards, but Ta'amu can move the ball. He was impressive in the spring game. Yes I know that's not the best indicator of actual ability in a real game.

I agree he should not have gone back in the game.

I think Vinnie Sunseri had a similar noncontact injury. Just running and then folded up.

I went back and looked at his highlight video from juco. His line there didn't seem to pass block very well at all, so he should feel right at home.
