when we fired R.C Slocum in 2002, our winning-est head football coach in program history, our football program when into complete abysmal (: failure mode for the next 10 f'ing years. It's happened to alot of programs ( Frank Solich @ Nebraska, Mike Leach at Texas Tech, Mack Brown at Texas, Fulmer at Tenn).

Y'all think your better than what you got as head coach. Well, y'all aren't.

Y'all are in a really tough spot but firing Richt would be a disaster.

flame on. yes still drunk

He was going for Pepto-Bismol.
An accurate, albeit misspelled, characterization.

I've ventured over to uga boards in the last 24 hours and it seems like a good bit of them want Kirby smart lol

One things for sure Pruitt is a fraud as some defensive guru that fsu defense was coached up by stoops he added jalen ramsey and a few fancy blitz packages that's about it

The little girls who cry after every loss want Richt fired. The smart people and people who make decisions won't pull that trigger just yet.

You've still used the word incorrectly.

This is a First!!!! I have to finally agree with a TXAM poster.

Firing Richt would be a huge mistake. While UGA hasn't won championships, you are normally mentioned every year as contenders.... Firing Richt would do long term damage to your program.

CLM makes bonehead mistakes during games but he keeps LSU football relevant every year, recruits very well, and gets his players to the next level.

Firing Richt would be a HUGE mistake!!

The inability of a program to recover also has a lot to do with the programs around it. For the most part UGA is similar to LSU in that it's the state flagship school. A$M has to fight several other schools who at anytime can be moving in the right direction in terms of recruiting and winning.

Richt is a fine coach, but it's time to turn the page.

We're playing so many true freshmen right now and that should provide great depth for us over the next couple years. If we're still struggling in 2018, I'll be out, but I do think we're at least heading in the right direction.

Yall are under estimating what new energy in a program can do

I mean it's def a gamble unless you get a home run which is hard these days your not getting Patterson, dantonio, shaw etc you gotta go up and comer most likely

Look what Urban brought to OHio State!!! three years later a NATTY trophy..

You could be right but its way too risky IMO.

Side NOTE:: i think Chubb getting hurt very early changed everything.

Barring a 6-8 loss season this year Richt will return next year. No QB, Chubb injury, new offense this year..despite the media hype this team was in transition year before Chubb went down
