But still the cws is more competitive. It's relatively the same teams in the sweet 16, elite 8, and final 4 every year lol. Hell if you got UK,NC, or DUKE on your jersey your relatively about a 70% lock to make it at least to the sweet 16 possibly the final 4 lol.

Yeah, it's a major national event, unlike the CWS.

i don't think anyone, even the most diehard college baseball fan, would ever say college baseball is a bigger event than college basketball. some people, however, do enjoy the sport of baseball more than the sport of basketball. i will never understand why people on here go out of their way to talk about how much college baseball sucks in their opinions. it's a big deal to a lot of people in the sec, though. if you don't like it, why bother posting about it?

Offseason. Preferring a championship in a pretty insignificant sport that few pay attention to over a major championship that occurs after an event that captivates large swaths of the country is weird. Even if you prefer the CWS on a very personal level, I would choose the Final Four because it's a much more beneficial accomplishment to the school.

I don't disagree with that point entirely; however, for me at least, LSU baseball was the first thing I followed as a kid. I grew up in the late 80s and early 90s. At that time, LSU football was in the shitter, LSU basketball started a downturn after Shaq, and LSU baseball was starting to win national titles every other year. I played baseball growing up and didn't have an MLB team, so naturally I gravitated towards college baseball, and it's just been something I've really enjoyed ever since. Like I said, different strokes for different folks. I'm not going to argue that the majority of people who do care about college baseball are those who are fans of teams that have had a lot of success. Very few schools that have never had any real success in college baseball care at all about college baseball, and I get that as well. It's a niche sport for sure, but it also is ignorant to say that the sport hasn't grown exponentially the past 20 years.

Well, we won a CWS last year. I'm not saying that I don't want to win this year, but if I had to pick it's definitely the NCAA tournament championship. I would be insufferable if we win both in a year. I'll almost certainly get banned.

Oh, and frick you guys who are discrediting that CWS victory. That's a big freaking deal to Vandy. Don't try to take that away from us!

Not sure how one "wins" a Final Four? Do you mean reaching the Final Four versus reaching the CWS (Omaha)?

Although I'd have to say, reaching the Final Four for me, as it's the more prestigious achievement in college sports. Sort of like which would you rather have: reaching the Final Four in BB or making the Final Four in FB? In that case it'd be the Final Four in FB, as it's the more prestigious college sport.

But then USC has already won 2 NCs in baseball, so reaching the Final Four in basketball would be the next unchecked box on the list, I suppose....

Final Four. Yes, we just won the CWS, but let's be honest. It's the "Big 2 plus that other 1 that's more accessible than track and field or diving but you still have to google a lot just to find out what happened."

Basketball titles are just more prestigious in terms of getting your name out there.

Good luck on that, I asked on page 2 and no one replied. Apparently the OP is a retard and doesn't know how to ask: "Would you rather win a championship in basketball or baseball?"

I've never head anyone say, "win the final four" - ever.

Is this a joke?

Final Four, easily. Even as an LSU fan.

ETA: Half the country doesn't give a frick about college baseball.

I guess that's important if you care about what other people think.

For me, college basketball is virtually unwatchable.

The NCAA also refers to the tournament as the Final Four. It's shorter than saying NCAA Tournament.

https://www.ncaa.com/final-four

If you don't know that "final four" is referring to the ncaa basketball tournament then maybe you shouldn't be reading sports forums.
