Obviously, EA couldn't afford(read: didn't want) to pay NCAA athletes with the game being $60 bucks a pop.

NCAA '13 sold 1.68 million copies. I can't find anything that says the numbers on NCAA 14...but I did see something that said 14's numbers were down by close to 10%.

We'll say 1.5 million sold on the safe side. at $40 extra per game, that comes out to $60 million extra. If the conferences and programs don't take any money...that comes out to be about $4,600 per player(based on 115 D1 programs at an average of 110 possible players).

Do you think that's a decent amount of money per year for an average college football player? I think the game, itself, would be much better because you could play with the exact players and their specs from day 1 instead of having to rely on 3rd party people building teams for DLC.

I'd buy it...

This is false, EA said they attempted to after they settled the lawsuit but the NCAA would not let them.

And yes I would.

Absolutely especially if it was on the Xbone or Ps4

You don't think increasing the price point by 80% is going to significantly reduce sales?

If they updated every stadium, conference, and uniform and added more customization to the game, I'd spend $200.

There's a 0% chance I'd pay that much for a shitty EA game. The reason their sales started dropping off was because NCAA 14 was basically the same game as NCAA 2004 with a few interface changes. I'd rather if a company that doesn't suck took over the NCAA football franchise and just made a generic game with a super deep team builder/stadium editor with all the ingredients to build all 126 (?) real teams.

That way the games would stay $60 and we'd be able to download rosters/teams from some no life on IGN within weeks, with the added bonus of the in game mechanics being better

Not for $100, but I'd definitely get the game and I love all the past ones. EA needs to stop making atrocious games like nba live and Roy Mcelroy pga and bring back awesome games like MVP baseball and NCAA Football/baseball.

Normally yes...but this way, they would be able to add more player similarities.

and even if that doesn't work....I'd say you can't reduce the sales any more than they are right now.

Solid chance there's more of a demand now, at that price point, than before at the $60 price point.

It probably would.

But it's starting to become the norm to spend $100+ on games once you get the DLC.

That is false. The issue is that the NCAA refuses to admit that these players are more than amateurs whose compensation of an education is adequate. The EA game is an irrelevant side issue, if EA pays for for the game that puts the NCAA on the hook for giving them a chunk of the TV money.

NFL players get around 50% of the NFL tv revenue. For college athletes to get that kind of pay (around $10 million per SEC team) it would require much more than some $100 games being sold.

I do agree with you. would you do it if a different developer made it?

We'll pretend it's an imaginary developer as EA pretty much just buys out every legitimate company and liquidates it.

I may not pay $100 for NCAA Football and NCAA Baseball and NCAA Basketball separately but I'd probably buy one of the new systems if these only came out for them.

I thought they actually stopped producing new copies of the NCAA 14 game. Tried to purchase it for Christmas '13 but nowhere had it in stock.

If 2k made the game, I'd pay $200-300 per year. Unfortunately, you can take 2014 NCAA and download the roster updates and have NCAA 2015
