He was a finalist for the Missouri job before going to Georgia and has developed a nice resume there. Gary Pinkel had Missouri within 1 win of the BCS title game while in the Big 12. Would Mark Richt have won a National Championship at Mizzou while they were in the Big 12, considering the Big 12<SEC?

I honestly don't think so. Pinkel has done wonders for our program in the last decade, only a Saban type coach could have improved that much IMO.

He has not won at UGA, so no.

He has accomplished nothing in the 4th-most-talented state in the country, so.... no.

I think UGA is a much easier school to win at than Mizzou. They have a great backyard recruiting base to take talent from, which Mizzou does not have. I think Pinkel is extremely underrated as a coach with how he's developed players at Mizzou and the things he has done there. I didn't know Richt was a finalist for the Mizzou job though.

As do I. We've never pulled in top 25 recruiting classes and Pinkel has made a living off of 2-3 star players despite that. (Spoon, Chase Daniel, etc)....

He would've most likely won at least one regular season game. That I can assure you.

This. I can't see what Missouri has to offer that Georgia can't and some. The only advantage would have been easier week to week competition.

That was kind of my point. Not that Missouri has more to offer than Georgia, but rather that Missouri was playing weaker competition in the Big 12.

No. Even if he took Mizzou to the BCSCG, they would lose to the SEC champion like every other Big 12 team. It's science.

Swoop, I understand your bias against UGA, but you're better than this.

How many titles would Saban have now if he had stayed at LSU?

How many titles would Bama have now if Saban never left LSU?

What if Mike Price never hit the titty bars?

What if Tennessee doesn't run off Fulmer?

Equally dumb hypotheticals I won't be starting a thread to ask...
