Butch is what that program needs right now. Joining the ACC has really lowered the bar for the football programs.

Kiffin would be perfect there. He could go out in the hood and recruit total thugs like they did back in the day and put a championship program back together at the U.

Those guys we use to watch when they were great couldn't even read they were literally thugs.

They don't need any home grown boys anymore. Bama did that for years and only got them 1 national championship and 2 SEC championships. They need a guy like Kyle Whittingham to go there.

Butch wants the job. I personally think he would turn Miami around even with the administration that doesn't give a damn.

Look at the past few NFL drafts. Look at how many former Canes are in the league right now. Even with the shitty everything at the U, they have had the talent under Golden to be a top 10 team almost yearly. You bring Butch Davis back, I think Miami is top 25 in year 1 and top 10 again by year 3. Hell, their current roster has top 15 talent right now and I believe Miami had more players drafted than any other school in the most recent NFL draft.

Even though we are the poster child of dumpster fires at this moment, the job at TAMU is way more of a destination job than Miami.

Not even sure you can call the Miami head coach position a destination job right now.

The Miami program needs someone to give them 4-5 years of rebuilding and getting the program back on track.

There is NO better coach than Butch Davis for that program right now.

IF Miami misses on this hire, the program is officially dead. The program cannot afford to take a risk on a lower tier coach, IMO.

They should get Butch on the cheap, let him build the program up like he did before and build a facility on or around campus that seats 40-50k, then hire a big name to win a title.

Just my two cents...

Miami needs an on campus stadium to recruit and who better to that than Butch? The brickmason himself Butch Jones that is. He could rebuild the program and build a stadium all at the same time

Just checked. Miami currently has the second most players in the NFL of any school. More than bama even.

LINK

South Florida is so ridiculously stocked with talent, if Miami hires a decent coach, they will be good again in a hurry.

Also Miami had 7 players drafted this year. 2 first rounders (more than bama) and 5 in the first 3 rounds (also more than bama).

That won't happen. The funding is not available nor is there a place in Coral Gables to build one.

Yeah, won't be an on campus stadium. No funding, but even more so, there is absolutely no where to build in the Gables. Real estate is through the roof there. Astronomical and no way in hell a stadium could get built on that small campus surrounded by some of the most expensive real estate in the U.S.

Even if they had the money and the land the City would never approve of a stadium.

They want no part of the sidewalk Miami fans and couldn't handle the traffice.

Yeah, they do. Because no high profile coach wants to go there in it's current state. They need to look toward a former Cane that wants to get the program back to status.
