Arkansas has high school talent... but it doesn't get the media hype kids from a lot of other states get.

The state of Arkansas must be damn near void of high school football talent. I never see any big name recruits come out of that place, Arkansas is never better than .500 and it's the only game in town (state) yet they never turn a corner. In all seriousness, what gives?

Compare the state of Arkansas population to other states in the SEC and you will have your answer. Our population has always played a part in our recruiting.

He's 7-17 in 3 years.

Curley Hallman (the worst coach in LSU history) was 7-16 in SEC play his first 3 years.

Bert has a legitimate shot at surpassing gus's SEC win-loss record in 2016.

I hope this is a joke. Bert would have to win 7 more confence games then Gus this year , and he has 7 conference wins in 3 years.

I believe Holtz probably was because he tookover a shite show that Brad Scott left behind.

Holtz was 0-11 his first year, 8-5 his second year and 9-4 his third year so that's 20 in three years ... but he also beat Ohio State and Clemson in both his second and third years, so you have to weigh the wins with the losses.

ETA: Oh wait, errrr ... I dunno. We're talking strictly conference losses here so Holtz went 0-8 his first year, 5-3 his second year and 5-3 his third year I'm pretty sure ... so that's 14. Yeah, Bert might do it, I dunno for sure.

Wonder what he took over his first year. Bielema had Petrino talent.

We all know the answer is no, but your point is taken. That is pretty mediocre. I for the life of me can't understand why arkie is ok with "building something."

Probably because he has gotten better every season at Arkansas.

He took over a roster that was void of talent and had lost 20+ players due to disciplinary reasons his first season.

In league play he started 0-8, then 2-6, and last season went 5-3. That's a steady improvement.

He'd actually have to win 8 more games to pass gus... GM has 14 (8, 4, 2)... BB has 7 (0, 2, 5).

Year four should be telling for both guys.

Petrino bombed his last 3 recruiting classes.... Trust us, there wasn't very much talent on campus by the time Bert arrived.

Yeah when Bielema first got here there were eight 4 or 5 star players on campus...next year there will be 20. He's definitely slowly digging us out of the motorcycle ditch lol

I think Bert would win big at a big six school.

This is mainly the point, no school would ever fire a coach that was improving the team every year.

Bilemma is a very good coach and this year he will win 8 to 9 regular season games minimum. Steady improvement.

Digging the Hogs out of a hole, they have our number [LSU].

It boils down to recruiting for Arkansas, the guy can coach if he gets the players to campus.

Not sure what you meant by this. I assume you know that the cupboard was very bare in talent. You can tell me "This class was ranked such-and-such, and that class looked good on paper" till you're blue in the face, but Bielema has brought in a lot more talent than CBP without the luxury of a bumper crop of instate talent like Petrino benefitted from.
