Would Bama have won as much or more with Manziel at QB instead of McCarron?

I don't think so.

A Florida fan asked me a couple of years ago right after Bama had won two NCs in a row if I'd trade McCarron for Manziel for the upcoming season and I said of course not.

He went on to tell me how crazy I was and he brought it up again today.

Manziel would have been benched for not following Saban's master plan.

so.....you're saying that manziel is not as good as McCarron and that there's no way that he could adjust to being a pro-style q.b.? ooooooook

Well, it would be pretty difficult to win MORE than they did with AJ, what was his career record?

I would probably go with no.

No because we ran a pro-style offense and;

No becuase I don't see Manziel towing the line under Saban.

no way...he'd have butted heads so badly with saban. And that's not an insult to saban.

I think Saban and Manziel would've clashed a lot.
Maybe if Bama had Kiffen during that time he would've been used better than Nussmier could.

I don't think so. Bama's offense seems to be more about ball security.

Less.

Nussmeir would have been his OC at Bama and he wouldn't have had Mike Evans to bail him out.

Saban would have executed Manziel with that button on his desk before the first game. McCarron is the answer.

I know one thing.

2012 A&M offense + 2011 Bama defense would be a hell of a team

Lol this is stupid Bama would have won more with Manziel, case in point is the offense would have been definitely different, remember Oklahoma vs Bama and Oklahoma vs A&M? Manziel won that game for A&M while Ok exposed AJ for being a game manager. Bama had so much talent those years nobody saw the deficiencies in AJ.

He's done a pretty shite job so far of trying to do this exact thing in Cleveland.

Both are/were system QBs. McCarron isn't in the league anymore and Manziel is struggling.

McCarron isn't in the league any longer? Hmmm? Learn something new every day don't you.

Thanks for informing the board of this news that only you are aware of.

Yes he is. He's the Bengals 2nd string QB.
