If I'm these schools getting absolutely hammered by the NCAA, I'm going after their utter lack of consistency in punishment. What do you have to lose at this point?

They're literally saying create all the fake classes you want, just make sure you offer them to everyone and not just players.

What a time to be a college kid.

Catch me up here.

They had that ridiculous class where they didn't have to show up and wrote a few sentences with poor grammar as their final and all got A's?

As bullshite as that is, its technically still a class and the players technically fulfilled the requirements of it.

What else did they do?

People don't want to hear it, but the NCAA had a jurisdictional issue in the UNC case. They can't regulate a school's curriculum.

UNC is saying that since this was an academic issue that took place within the University, the NCAA has no jurisdiction. They're right about that, but man it opens up a ton of loopholes for keeping players eligible. Just make sure coaches aren't involved in pushing players into fake classes and the NCAA now can't do shite about it.

Ole Miss' frickery was not contained to academics. Honestly, the NCAA probably is a little bit pissed of and they'll hit Ole Miss because they can and they want people to know it.

Every school facing any type of NCAA investigation should just them. This is ridiculous. IF UNC did not cheat, they should sue the sh*t out of the NCAA for damaging their reputation...but they won't probably because they cheated...therefore any other schools (remember MIZ had a tutor claim to have taken exams for student athletes before backing off) should handle their situation similar to the way Ole Miss has.

You've never heard of the saying from the late Jerry Tarkanian: "The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky it will probably slap another two years probation on Cleveland State." Translation: The NCAA lets the haves slide and the have-nots get hammered.

Can you imagine the NCAA basketball tournament without North Carolina? CBS and Turner would be furious. But Ole Miss football is a have-not. They're not a huge revenue/ratings generator for the NCAA's broadcast partners. So they could get hammered.
