Good for him. Pretty sad that you have to take shots at other players who do a ton for the community, much of which is never publicized though. It's just football, it shouldn't eat at your brain every day of your life.

Must be true if posted on Reddit by someone who saw it on Facebook.

From friend's FB post: "Just watched Wallace Gilberry of the @cincinnati_bengals buy a young family with a bunch of boys a ps4 and bunch of games at target tonight. The kids and dad were going crazy and the mom was in tears. I was big fan of him before but I'm a even bigger fan now. What a stand up dude."

Played defensive line for Bama 2003-2007. Obviously plays defensive line for the Bengals now.

That is very kind of Gilberry.

As a player, I didn't realize how impressive he was at Alabama and has been in the NFL until I looked at his stats.

quote:

He finished his career at Alabama with 188 tackles, 60.5 tackles for loss for -223 yards, 21.5 sacks for -135 yards, 5 caused fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 38 quarterback hurries.[1][2]

He has 31.5 career NFL sacks. 4.5 sacks a season since he has been in the NFL.

I was a younger fellow then so my memory has faded...in that same era of bama football, let's say around 02-05, I remember yall had gilberry plus a few other standout DLinemen. Any idea who I might be thinking of?

Bobby Greenwood played opposite Gilberry but he was hardly a standout. He played his butt off though.

Ahead of them you may be thinking about Kindal Moorehead (recently retired) and Kenny King.

if it's true it's a great thing he has done. much respect to you Mr. Gilberry!

to the OP youre a real dick for trying to turn something so nice into the petty bs you are going for. its nice to know you arent actually relevant enough to tarnish this man's good deed. pathetic
