Will Yaz come to the game to watch his Grandson today?

Be on the lookout for Yaz in the stands.
Probably will wait, and go to the Regional games in Nashville, or Omaha, if they make it.

Great player. I think he was the last triple crown winner (1967?).

Miguel Cabrera won the Triple Crown last year.

What does birth-control got to do with baseball?

Yaz was a great player. Not many like him.

Yaz was one of the most loved and respected players of his time - by opposing players & fans. He was the last batter in the Bucky Dent HR playoff game, I was sure the Yankees were beat but it was one rare time that he did not come through. May have had the strongest wrist/forearms ever. A beast with a bat, a real man's man.

Since Corbin has been here VU has had a huge presence in the Northeast as we have landed some of the bigger names in that region that have made it college (have missed a few big time guys up there to the draft as well). Young Yaz having so much success over 4 years has been huge for VU. He and the program had a great front page article in the New York Times sports section a couple of weeks ago. Linked below

Also I very much doubt CY comes to this game or to the college world series unless it was the title game series, and even then sort of doubt it. At his age he really does not like the crowds or notoriety (I could see him coming to Nashville for the Regionals or Supers and sitting in the press box or somewhere private, team clubhouse overlooks the field),

Correct. Yaz in '67 was the last one before Cabrera, a gap of 45 years. Yaz hit .326 with 44 HRs and 121 RBI one year before they lowered the pitcher's mound. He was the near unanimous AL MVP in '67 (all but one vote).
