Suppose a West team with 2 losses wins the SECCG. Are we really okay with not having an SEC team in the playoffs?

It would depend on the resumes of the other teams also in play for a playoff spot.

All of this stuff will play itself out just like it did with Ohio State winning the national title last year.

It is always an entertaining discussion, but its based on nothing that is even able to be evaluated yet.

That would be very frustrating if a team like OSU, while playing in a power conference, gets in - considering that, if the preseason polls are an accurate indicator of SOS, OSU will have a cakewalk getting into the playoffs (they currently have 1 regular season game against a team that's making the preseason polls, MSU. (No Wisconsin, and their big name OOC opponent is Va Tech).

I believe it's becoming more of a possibility with teams like the Mississippi/st. and Arkansas really upgrading their teams... Any given week if your team's not playing well there's a chance for a loss.

They also beat the ever living piss out of Alabama on a national stage. I think people would give them the benefit of the doubt.

I will be the first to say I have no clue how the west will shake out this year.
I feel like Bama may be down a little, LSU is a brewing Dumpster fire, OM is over-rated as usual, MissState is coming back down to earth, Arkansas still hasn't really proven anything, A&M can't stop anyone, and people are picking Auburn by default. But those are just my opinions and are not based on much else except for my own personal evaluations.
To me LSU is the biggest X-factor. If they have decent QB play then they probably win the west. If they don't, then Les and Co. probably will finally be held accountable for why they can't win and can't develop QB's. (In my opinion this would have already happened had Mettenberger not fallen into their laps).

It appears all this happens while Georgia is smiling and running the East (which is obviously inferior) and hoping for a beat up west team in the SECCG so they can back door their way into the playoff.

No kidding?

Wow, that takes insight I tell you.

The point is that after dominating college football for the greater part of a decade, only an idiot of an SEC fan would've demanded a playoff system that didn't have auto bids for conference champions. And that any college football playoff that doesn't include an SEC team is a sham and no better than the old AP/UPI system of awarding champions.

So, LSU is a brewing dumpster fire that is a decent, not even good, QB away from winning the West, in your opinion?

which is what will cause the fire. The level of ineptitude at QB undermines everything else going on in BR.

8-5 is now a dumpster fire? I bet Arky and OM wish they could dumpster fire like LSU.

Literally (one of the few instances where that word applies) no one has a clue.
Drawing random team names from a hat makes as much sense as predicting divisional outcomes; yet some act as though they have insight that others don't.
Upsets, injuries, "fluke" losses/wins, darkhorses who seemingly come outta nowhere ... each happen.
But I enjoy watching folks verbally battle the whole deal.

Lol. Arkansas fans aren't the ones needing to come back down. Nobody outside of Baton Rouge expects LSU to be any good. Overrated RB, retarded coach, horrible DC, etc.

Yes and unfortunately I think it's here to stay. Teams will be lucky to get out with one loss every year. I don't see an undefeated season in the near future for anyone.

Since Auburn offered Leonard Fournette, they sure as hell dodged a bullet, huh? Tell me though,....how does it feel to be 3-7 against a retarded coach?

The west is more brutal than at any time I can remember. Any of the 7 teams can beat anyone in the nation on the right day.

I'll give you the mett thing, but we still had to go out and recruit him, if not he could have ended up at Arkansas. On the flip side the reason we went Juco was because Zach Lee signed with the dodgers after being on LSUs campus. Mett still spent 3 years at LSU, more than any other school, his development should be attributed to LSu and not because he spent a rs season at uga getting zero reps in practice.

Even without below average qb play instead of down rt atrocious, Miles won't lose enough games to get canned. We went undefeated while kicking the snot out of everyone but bama with below average qb play.
