The SEC has had a major drop-off in the past few years. Between 2006 and 2012 you usually had 2-3 SEC teams every year that could whoop just about anybody out of conference, hence the NC streak. But then every media outlet and their momma started sucking the SEC's dick 24/7 so recruits were happy just to play for any SEC school and not just the top few. So it spread the talent around and schools like ole miss, MSU, and arkansas became decent and the big 6 teams (besides bama) dropped down a few notches.
