I mean what a disaster. And furthermore, can they afford to?
What's his buyout?

Lol at buying out a baseball coach. He gets one more year.

He'll get at least one more year because the chances of them getting anyone better than him are slim and none.

Nope. Thanks to finally paying off Fulmer, paying down our building debts (rates soared when the economy crashed), attendance at events going up and Dave Hart being a cheap arse.

El Bunto seems to be a terrible coach.

I've been really surprised at how much they've struggled under Serrano. My gut feeling is that, if he can't win there, there aren't many that can.

Serrano is in a very tough situation. It's not easy to win at Tennessee and probably never will be. Tennessee is surrounded by SEC/ACC powerhouses..
In your own state... Vanderbilt, a budding national power. They can recruit with anybody.. anywhere.
Below you.... South Carolina, another national power, who typically gets the best talent in SC and then cherry picks from nearby states. (see Wil Crowe)
To your east... UNC, a very strong traditional program. The most winningest college baseball program since 2000 I believe (followed by SC).
North of you? Louisville... a school literally pouring money into it's baseball program... and it's starting to pay off..
That's just a few of the schools nearest Tennessee.. I haven't even talked about the Florida schools or the schools west of you that really care about baseball.. LSU, Arky, MSU etc.
Serrano is a good coach and Tenn has the potential to be consistently competitive but there would be no positives of firing him unless you know for sure you can get a proven winner from another D1 school. And even then, Tenn is still gonna struggle initially..

Serrano is a terrible tactician and even worse leader. He's supposed to be a pitching expert. Has he recruited or developed anyone, yet?
No better than Raleigh.
