whats up with Florida? first you have a coach fake illness just to get out of town then take another gig, and now this
quote:

"It's not just about being the head coach,” Muschamp said after becoming the defensive coordinator at Auburn. "It's about being somewhere where you know that you're going to get the support, the resources and the finances you need to have to be successful and to win championships.”
Maybe ath. dept. doesn't support the coaches as well as they would like you to believe

i think if i were giving him advise, i would have told him to take a year off and look for another head coaching gig.

would of been good advice

Well they do support the entire athletics program, but Foley for the longest time believed the facilities were "good enough" in comparison to the other facilities in the SEC.

McElwain was having none of it and now we have a $17M IPF.

Shouldn't you be more concerned with a coach that can't win more than two conference games?

This is a freaking hilariously slanted statement, here let me try a more factual version-

Year 1: Muschamp has the worst season by a Gator coach in more than two decades, helms the worst Florida offense in living memory. Signs decent but unspectacular class.

Year 2: Muschamp has unsustainable year with tons of lucky breaks rides Urban Meyer talent and the defensive Genius of future two time Super Bowl defensive coordinator (1 time champion) and NFL Head Coach Dan Quinn to Sugar Bowl berth, subsequently embarrasses program in loss to Louisville. Offense still horrendous but doesn't turn it over much. Has good but unbalanced and unimpressive recruiting class (you don't get props for getting a top 10 class at UF, top 3 that's something you can brag about).

Year 3: Injuries mount early and often and players who had significant training under Meyer have mostly left, Muschamp clearly in over his head posts worst season in nearly 35 years ends one of nation's longest bowl streaks missing post-season for first time since 70s. Offense falls off cliff, recruiting does likewise, majority of fan base wants him fired before the end of November.

Year 4: With his back against the wall, Muschamp apparently engages in a radical course change ditching the pro style ball control approach he'd supposedly been building towards (though never really recruited for), quickly gives up on this and reverts back with the first taste of adversity. Posts yet another 6 win season, is predictably fired mid-year a MO th after being serenaded with "fire Muschamp" chants at homecoming.

The guy might think he got a bad break but that's only because he's a moron who has never shown any capacity to learn from his mistakes.

Solid. May I add I hate that stupid son of a bitch and the further he is away from Gainesville and our program the better. So glad that bastard is gone. EAD Muschamp......so in other words no, I don't think highly of him and yes I'm bitter and probably irrational!!! But still frick him.

Will Muschamp is maybe the worst head coach in UF history. The wasted talent he had was so absurd, it was beyond ridiculous. The expectation to result in 2013 was so beyond anything rational. Injuries or not, there is no excuse. Going 4-8 at Florida is simple unacceptable. He should have literally have been fired as soon as the GSU game ended. Right there on the field, handed a pink slip.

saw a special segment on sec network on the number of former head coaches working as coordinators in the sec.

shite, LSU's got that covered.

Steele and Cameron are a combined 28-88 as HCs.

Wut? Did he really say that?

Was that a dig on Foley and UF?

Muschamp blamed everyone but himself for what happened at UF, so it is not surprising. He is still under the impression he didn't deserve to be fired. It's an absurd comment given that Foley gave him another shot after Georgia Southern when nearly everyone was under the impression he wouldn't make it to year 4.

To put this in perspective Florida had the most offensive players drafted last season of any team in the SEC- including 4 Offensive linemen and a running back. That's right 4 of Florida's 5 starting offensive linemen were drafted.

Then think about the offense looked.

Yeah, that's how much Will sucked.

Zook led Illinois to a Rose Bowl- that's a bigger accomplishment than anything Muschamp will ever achieve as a coach.

Leading Illinois to a Rose Bowl is significantly harder than leading Florida to a Sugar Bowl.

Muschamp will be the HC at Illinois next year, where 7-6 is a luxury.
