After missing the tournament, and hiring a new AD that wants to put more resources into baseball...it looks like Tim Jameison will be done after 21 years at Mizzou.

Vitello was a key assistant during our last good run, and many thought he was the main reason for it. He's currently an assistant/recruiting coordinator at Arkansas.

I'm betting he's first on our list.

God I hope so. We have some decent young talent and I think the energy that a new, young coach could bring could bring out the best in them.

Can't believe Mizzou lost all those midweek games. Don't know if they didn't play their best pitchers or just too relaxed.

Little bit of both, which both fall squarely on TJ's shoulders. He chose to not throw a 2nd round nor a 10th round pick out of high school in favor of a guy who couldn't even get drafted after his junior year of college.

That's exactly what kept UK out of the tourney as well. It looks really bad to lose to a bunch of mid-majors. Cost us dearly.

I always thought Evan Pratte was going to be his replacement. Then he went to Director of Baseball Ops. I do not know who they'll go after.

I'd go after Vitello first...

Maybe try Hendrickson from St. Louis U.

Grew up with Evan. Great guy. Great baseball guy. My understanding is that he took the job as Director of Baseball Ops in order to spend a little more time with the family. Not sure if that lends well to a HC job.

Andy Benes would be cool, although outside of his son he has 0 ties with mizzou.

I went to college with Evan and was on staff with him when he came back to SMS. He and Jill are great people.

I'm not sure Jameison is out. But if he is, Vitello is probably option #1.

Mizzou w/ TJ and Vitello: 8 seasons, 7 NCAA at-large bids. Mizzou under TJ only: 13 years, 1 bid

O, wow.

Not that it was all due to Vitello BUT I saw someone tweet:

TJ with Vitello on staff...8 years...7 NCAA appearances

TJ without Vitello on staff...13 years...1 NCAA appearance

With a record like that its no wonder he would be high on the list.

From what little I saw of Mizzou baseball this season y'all had the talent in place but there was a definite lack of drive, especially in those disastrous mid-week games. A good, young Head Coach with ties to the program might be just what Mizzou needs.
