Les will be great on TV. He should take the money and ride off into the sunset.

No, he's taking an analyst position at Bama. It'll be announced tomorrow.

No always take a year off to disappear and have your agent set something good up under the radar

My guess would be no, unless a super-sweet offer comes along. Why not squeeze that sweet, sweet buyout? He can do Gameday, ESPN analysis and commentary, and all but rest with golf tourneys and appearances.

Plus, staying on the market will increase his brand. He's a good coach, and by most accounts a decent man - offers will roll his way for the next 5 years even if he stays at home and nibbles grass. He can afford to be choosy, I think.

The man has a 114-34 record in the SEC. There will be many schools competing for his services.

He'll be at Auburn. He will retire there with a nine game winning streak against LSU.

Troll answers aside, there will be plenty of options for him. Right off the top of my head, Purdue is probably going to have a vacancy. Miles would be a home run hire for them and his style can still be quite successful in the B1G.

As a Bama fan I hope not. Coach Miles is a decent OC away from being a world beater, IMHO. If Gus can coach Auburn into enough wins to keep a job, while fumbling the talent they recruit, Les Miles would be a juggernaut there.

Why wasn't he a juggernaut the last few years at LSU, you might ask. Les should hire the best OC he can find and turn him loose. When his team has the ball, Les should go have a coffee. Some tea. Take a dump. Whatever.

I'll get flamed and downvoted but a Coach Les Miles and OC Coach Lane Kiffin at AU is something I'd never want to see.

Don't kid yourselves - half the AD's in the country are going to at least get his number if for no other reason than as a 'what if' scenario. Whatever hurt feelings he has now will disappear as soon as a dozen schools start calling.

That being said - and I know I'm going to get trolled for this - but the first people who need to start raising the money to get him are the ones who had an opening first - Baylor. Line up $4M/year and tell him to not even to bother coming to Texas until after the season is over, just start recruiting. Frankly, the farther he stays away from Waco until that whole mess is over with, the better.

Ain't gonna happen, and I don't even want it to. But if I'm Baylor I don't stop until someone else hires him.

I think so. He is a damn good coach. The guy has .770 winning % in the SEC.

After hearing about this huge buyout for Les it would be funny if he takes another job and LSU practically pays nothing to get rid of him.
He would be coaching for free. Why not coach high school instead

Les is a good to great coach.

My father was a coach most of my young life. We moved every six years.

Later in life i asked why. He responded,"As a coach your first 6 to 8 are your best. After that you have more enemies than friends and it gets stale. You have to change it up."

It was rough on us, but it was his career.

Les will do well wherever he lands.

Now he can go coach at Arkansas, since he was so interested a few years ago
