Go back to the start of the 2008 season, the year Nick Saban really got Alabama rolling. From there, SEC teams are 21-25 when they play a game the week after meeting the Crimson Tide.

Teams that took an open date after playing Alabama are 6-2 in their next game.

This was before UT beat UK, so the record is now 22-25.

LSU will beat Arkansas but I think Arkansas pits on a show and makes it interesting.

Wouldn't LSU's record after facing Bama be relevant here?

Yes. We lose 65 to 3 and lose out this season.

Season over after loss 5 years running, etc.

Yes. Arkansas is going to beat LSU in the last seconds.

No, that's not what this thread is about. Having to explain that to you was predictable, but I'm always willing to help.

LSU is not any SEC team. Enjoy the 5 game win streak and stop making yourself look foolish (I know that's a tall task).

LSU is 6-1 after playing the gumps.

How long would it have taken to look this up? It took me mayyyybbeee 2 min. Idiot.

2008- Troy
2009 Louisiana Tech
2010- ULM
2011- Western Kentucky
2012- Miss St
2013- BYE
2014- Arky (lost)

So y'all beat four cupcakes, had one bye, and are 1-1 in conference after facing Alabama.

I can think of two of those 21 wins...

Well if you're going to go into that level of detail, it would also make sense to do the same for the record discussed in the OP. It's also worth noting that Bama has played some bad sec teams since 2008, so just shy of .500 isn't some amazing stat that shows a unique trend. In other words, I question the validity of the "Alabama Effect" without more context.

You made the statement with your chest puffed out and got a response that didn't fit your narrative. Awe shucks.

No. They were never in the game in the 2nd half. If the game was like last year and LSU lost in the last moments, then I would say yes.

If I was running things at LSU, I would play a cupcake the week before Bama and take the bye week right after Bama.

Your team just suffered the Alabama effect last year because you weren't playing the sisters of the poor.

Unless you're willing to admit that Arky was, in fact, 17 points better than LSU, and your Heisman candidate was good for 0 points against them, and that performance was not an anomaly.

It's a very different situation this year than last.

Highly unlikely. During that time frame LSU has won 86% of the games after playing Bama. The rest of the SEC has only won 40% of theirs. Maybe you picked the wrong team in your title.

Last year was a completely different scenario. It was their 3rd loss and they had nothing to play for, they had a demoralizing game against bama they should have won and they lost.

This year is completely different, they still have a chance and the reports are that they're motivated.

Just admit you were wrong about lsu and go find the teams where your statistic fits your theory.

Or better yet, go place some money on the razorbacks....if you're that confident.

So we play another weak team immediately after Bama like usual. The trend of bouncing back with a win should continue.
