Well, his defense at Bama has now become an arse-kicking endorsement for what he will be bringing to UGA. So, yeah, I guess. Not like he'd be doing anything else in Athens between now and the recruiting dead period ending other than organizing his office and finalizing two or three position coaches.

I guess I should say I'm cheering for a 3-2 Bama loss.

LOL

best answer.

Would the idea scenario be for the Alabama D to pitch a shut out but the offense gives up eight pick sixes?

If they are smart they will hoping for a Bama loss so that their head coach can get to Athens and start being their head coach. If they win, Bama plays again on jan 11 just 4 weeks from signing day.

Our recruiting is going very well as it is.

Doesn't really matter seeing as Kirby can't meet with recruits face-to-face until after the title game anyway. I guess you can say he could be hiring the remaining assistant coaches sooner but maybe not if those coaches are still playing in bowls (and not that that has stopped him from hiring coaches anyway). And if a recruit wants to call him (the only permissible contact during the dead period) then he can take those calls no problem.

I hope bama gets stomped, really don't care what the defense looks like. Nobody is going to not commit to kirby on the back of one game. I think the last 6 or 7 years speak for themselves.

And my opinion actually doens't have anything to do with kirby and everythign to do with me just not wanting to pull for alabama.

If BAMA wins, Saban is going to let Kirby fly to whatever crappy bowl UGA is playing before making him come back to Title Town. Damn nice of Saban to allow that.

some bama fans think that the entire universe revolves around them and their will. Blows my mind the fantasy land some people live in.

This is kirby's dream job. It's his first HC gig at his alma mater with a pretty stocked cupboard. Point is...he really wants this job and we wanted him. If saban said "no, you have another month here and you are absolutely not going to spend time anywhere else" and UGA said "we really want you, but it's already december and we need to make a move, are you on board or not?" kirby would have left tuscaloosa so fast your head would spin.

Saban is "allowing" kirby to split time because if he didn't he'd be kirby-less the last few weeks.

I said that previously. Then I gave it more thought.

Now I'm good with a 2-0 Bama loss.

Nice picture in the OP. Was that picture taken during his last trip to historic Mark Richt Field?
I'll be pulling for Coach Kirby
