We all know what Jalen Hurts can do if he's playing a good game, and Bama's running game is usually great; but with everything you lost on defense, how will it hold up this year?

I don't see more than eight wins for them.

Alabama has lost great players to the league every year and still have a top 3 defense the following season. Saban will have them baws ready.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it will be a very good defense.

I think Bama's D will always be "good" but I don't know if this year will be as good as last year. Hopefully our O can get a third down here and there to give our D some rest.

It won't be as good as last year's, but it will still be one of the top 2 in the SEC.

What's changed? Saban is still there and still recruiting 5 star athletes everywhere on that defense so I'm going to say they are going to have a very good defense

It'll probably be better somehow. There won't be much drop off.

They lost a lot of proven 1st and 2nd round NFL talent.

That's why they will be good but probably not as good as last year.

I'm more curious about Bama's OL situation. That will tell you more about Alabama than anything else. Team's that can pressure Hurts can put him in a 3rd and long situation can cause problems but Alabama's defense is never going to be a liability. Even if it takes a few steps back it won't lose them a game. Their offense, otoh, might lose them a game if the opponent is good enough.

The Alabama defense will be very solid with a lot of experience on the back end. The front line linebackers and linemen will all be very good the issue will be developing depth.

Bama's Oline has experience back too but there will be some shuffling. LG and C are returning starters and Lester Cotton started at RG some. Jonah Williams will be the next great Alabama O Lineman and is moving from RT over to left. If he can handle that (he should) there are several good candidates for RT. The skill positions are loaded with a lot of experience at TE WR and RB.

Alabama will return a good offensive line and very good depth and talent at running back and receivers. The only question is whether the quarterback can make defenses defend the entire field.

Alabama defense being scary good is pretty much a given year in and year out.

I would not worry at all about the D, if I were an Alabama fan...

Now the kicking game...

Nope. It's not like Saban has put an elite defense on the field for like 10 straight seasons. No, I just don't see it bro.

ArrrrrGGGGHHH! From now on I am proposing that we just go for it on Fourth down inside the 35.

I did read that there have been some really great field goals in Spring practice. But, if I were an Alabama fan, I would be nervous about kicking for years.

Every team has to have something to make you fret, though, or it wouldn't be any fun.

I just hope it isn't the qb position for us this year.
