LSU and FLORIDA chanted SEC SEC SEC when they won, as if to say they represent something bigger then their team,school,or legacy.
Do you think Bama does it if they win? I dont think they will.

We did in the 1993 Sugar Bowl. It was the first time I had ever heard it.

I dont think they did last year. Maybe in 06 or for basketball.
But i think they just chanted "its great to be a florida gator". Ppl on this board got pissed off IIRC

I Dont think they will. They were chanting Bama Around Shreveport during Indy Bowl and eventually switched to SEC but that's only cause they were being drowned out by ULM and Sun Belt chants.

I hope not. Because unlike the less successful programs in our conference we can actually stand on our own accomplishments. Others? Not so much.

Uh.. you really think when an SEC chant rang out when SC beat Clemson this year it was because SC fans were thinking "hey we don't do much, but at least we can chant SEC because of all the national titles other SEC schools are winning!"
There is no way you can be that stupid. This whole 'conference pride' thing exploded by ESPN and others always debating who the best conference is and though they ultimately say its the SEC they always want to poke as many holes as possible and make as many excuses for the Big 12/ Big 10 / PAC-10 as possible.
So when any SEC team beats another BCS conference team and the SEC chant starts its like saying "frick you, we're the best conference and we're showing you why"
